A balanced life requires that we not only take care of our physical & emotional needs but also of the spirit. An attitude of passivity towards life & matters of faith does not please God. The Christian faith is meant to be active and involving not dull & passive.
Spiritual growth is the process of shedding our false thoughts, beliefs, & ideas by becoming more aware of who we are, what we can become, and what we can do through Jesus Christ.
The interesting thing about this growth and productivity is that God has given each believer a certain measure of grace. He expects returns that are commensurate to the grace He has allocated to each of us. God does not have a one-size-fits-all approach in what He does in and through humanity.
Mark 4:25, "Whoever has will be given more; whoever does not have, even what they have will be taken from them."
The person who takes a keen interest in developing what God has given them will get more. The one who does not treasure the gift of God will lose it. God does not want to waste any gift or effort in exercising benevolence with man. It is only those who are totally sold out to God who experiences the full extent of His mercy, grace & power.
God has given us all the resources we need to bear lasting spiritual fruit. We cannot afford to be weak or reckless. God expects that our lives are going to be impactful because He does not want us to take His grace in vain.
May we be found faithful.
