Take Off Your Value Blinders

I recently had the great pleasure of meeting Traci Philips, The Innate Coach. Traci works with leaders and others to help them perform at their best and experience more passion, purpose, consciousness and success in their lives. After watching one of Traci’s videos, this question struck me: Why do we struggle in discovering and trusting our innate value when we can so quickly and easily identify our perceived innate flaws?
If I asked you to tell me your innate value (e.g. your gifts, what makes you special, your beautiful heart, etc.), my guess is that you would struggle with either identifying it or in really believing it. However, if I asked you to tell me your perceived innate flaws, you would rattle them off with ease (e.g. disorganized, poor memory, not a good listener, and various versions of not enough).
We have been trained to focus on our flaws and discouraged from seeing our innate value. Essentially, you have been putting on innate value blinders your whole life (perhaps someone thought this was a form of humility). It’s time to take off the blinders, acknowledge your innate value to yourself and, most important, share your gifts with the world.
