We're well into Women's History Month, I've been reflecting a lot on the incredible strength and resilience of women throughout history.
But you know what else I've been thinking about?
The importance of not trying to do it all by ourselves. Seriously, ladies, we don't have to be superheroes 24/7.
A few years back, my good friend decided to start her own VA business. At the time, I didn't really grasp what a virtual assistant could do for me. To be really honest, I didn't really get what a virtual assistant could do point blank.
But then, during a conference, the speaker asked us to list out all the tasks that were sucking up my time and energy. And let me tell you, the list was long. Then we had to review our lists and decide what we could delegate.
And less than a month later I hired my friend as my VA. It was like a weight lifted off my shoulders. And lesson learned: it's okay to ask for help and success is rarely a solo journey.

But that experience got me thinking about all the other areas in our lives where we could use a helping hand. Whether it's a meal service (I love HelloFresh!), or having in home care to lend a hand with the kids or aging parents, there's no shame in offloading some of the load.
I remember a conversation with a friend about "the luxury" of having an au pair. But my perspective on the matter was simple, and I told her, "Your car is your support." She had just bought a nice, upgraded vehicle, and I was using my trusty-enough Hyundai with more than 100k mile to get from point A to point B. Many years later, I now know the luxury of a butt warmer, so I can see both sides of the coin. ??
As we celebrate Women's History Month, let's also celebrate the power of support and finding the right rhythm for our lives. Because let's face it, we're stronger together!
And speaking of support, I'm excited to share "Springing Forward" – a transformative program designed to empower leaders to cultivate resilience and compassion on their journey.

11 个月Great read Evisha! I was reminded of one of the funniest scenes in the movie "The Incredibles" where Edna Mode - who was the heroes costume designer - said “no capes”! Sometimes those capes can get “caught”. Even SuperHeroes need help! So we do need to take them off and welcome some help from others in our work/life.
