Take-Off to the Future: Shortlist for the Crystal Cabin Awards 2024 announced

The Crystal Cabin Award , which is presented annually by Hamburg Aviation, is the most prestigious award for innovations in the cabin sector. The outstanding 72 entries on the 2024 shortlist all promise to make flying more comfortable, sustainable and progressive. The list of nominees reflects a wide range of innovations, from revolutionary seating concepts to sustainable cabin materials and advanced, inclusive entertainment systems. The prestigious trophy will be awarded on 28 May 2024 in Hamburg; once again as part of the Aircraft Interiors Expo.

Launch for BLU-Space: Hamburg is Pioneering Urban Drone Traffic Management

The BLU-Space project is developing a system for the management of unmanned drone traffic in Germany. It aims to link air traffic data for the first time under real conditions with data from various sources and platforms to develop cross-border blueprints. The project consortium expects to make a significant contribution to safe and economical air mobility. The BLU-Space project is funded by the German Federal Ministry for Digital and Transport as part of the innovation initiative mFUND, with a total of €2.36 million. Read more.


Sustainable Aero Lab enters strategic partnership with Embraer-X

Sustainable Aero Lab , the Hamburg-based startup incubator founded in cooperation with the Ministry for Economic Affairs and Innovation and Hamburg Aviation, has announced an official partnership with Embraer-X , an Embraer incubator and market accelerator specialized in disruptive innovation. The company will join the Lab as an official partner, engaging in the initiative’s renowned mentorship program. Companies from the Sustainable Aero Lab community will benefit from eased access to the Embraer ecosystem, while Embraer-X innovation and venture activities will be closer linked to the Lab. For STEM in the classroom: The "Zukunftsflieger" has landed!

Thanks to the great support of our aviation community, the first Zukunftsflieger?experiment kits have landed safely at our headquarters. Now the exciting phase of distributing them to schools in Hamburg and the Hamburg metropolitan region is about to begin.?

Our aim is to work with as many teachers as possible and support them in their work to get pupils in grades three to six interested in STEM subjects. The Zukunftsflieger experiment kit provides the perfect basis for lessons, working groups or project weeks. Read more.


Take-off - a successful Qblue project finale!

Together with their network partners, the Qblue team celebrated a successful project finale and set the course for the future! Working WITH each other is essential. And so, after three years of the project, we are celebrating the network's finale and at the same time setting the course for the future. The interactive stations provided a great opportunity to reflect on past events, refresh memories and gather new inspiration. It was wonderful and special to celebrate together with those who made the project what it is: Namely, a complete success.?

Qblue was implemented over three years as part of the funding guideline "Development of further training networks" and was supported by the German Federal Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs and the Authority of Economics and Innovation in Hamburg.
