TAKE A MOMENT TO SAY THANKS!

Today I would like take a few moments to highlight the MENTORS in my life who made a difference in it. No matter which industry you work in, the way your MENTORS teach you makes a big difference.
MENTOR 1:
This mentor was someone who made the most impact in my life. She had the following qualities which I truly admired and respected her for (and still do):
1) On day 1 of my work, she called me and introduced herself (again). She made me feel as though I was her only student- she was very personal and was very open about challenging me on things that she felt I had the need to work on.
2) When she had something to bring to my attention, she used the CONSTRUCTIVE CRITICISM to get her point across. Not at any moment in that time did I ever feel that I had done something wrong. Her sentences would start with “I knew you felt that was the correct way to proceed with things, but what if you could have tried it this way” It was always an open discussion which towards the end always made me realize that “yes, I can do this in a different way and make more impact!”
3) She called me out on my BIAS’ which was very important in my profession. She opened my eyes to things that I was not aware that I was doing subconsciously doing and again, she did it like a teacher. She asked the relevant questions which got me to think and change how I perceived the world.
MENTOR 2:
This mentor made me stronger and tougher in ways that she does not know:
1) She was someone who liked to be in control of things, which was necessary because she was starting her own business and I was an associate.
2) She put faith in my abilities to run her practice when she went on maternity leave. I was very nervous and anxious because I now had the responsibility of taking care of her clients. But if she hadn’t given me that responsibility, I wouldn’t have known the nuances of running a business.
3) Her consistent effort to make her own brand has taught me the hard work that goes into it. I saw her complete so many pinnacles of her life while I was still trying to figure out my direction. Now, I emulate her path and try to follow her footsteps because she taught me things that she does not even know of.
Sometimes, you just have to show GRATITUDE to the people who have made a difference in your life and today, I felt like extending my thanks to these WONDERFUL WOMEN who don’t even know the impact, the respect I have for them.
