Take a Moment

Take a Moment

Three sheets is all he needed.

A long time ago worked with a Project Manager Joe, who blew me away with his foresight.

When everyone else turned up to project meetings with thick folders jammed full of information (pre-digital) he would arrive with just a manilla folder containing all of three pieces of paper.

Pressed for detail, one of those three would have the information they needed to hear. (mind blown)

I had to ask, how the hell he managed to do this, his response “I always take time to put myself in their shoes and consider what are the top three things they would want to know. I prepare for those.”

Invariably, with that level of experience he was correct. Cool, calm, considered, legend.

Take this anecdote into your preparation for presentations, proposals, content, what ever you put forward.

It has served me well for more than 25 years.

Love the simplicity of the three-sheet strategy! It's a great reminder to prioritise and not get bogged down by unnecessary details. Thanks for sharing this valuable insight.
