Take Me Up on a Very Bad Idea

Take Me Up on a Very Bad Idea

I have a very bad idea. It's not like I'm not busy. I've got plenty of things to do. But I have the itch to challenge myself a bit, to stretch out, and in the process, to meet some folks I don't already know. That's where you come in.

I Want to Write a Guest Post for Your Blog or Newsletter

Hey, wouldn't it be neato to have a world famous New York Times bestselling author pinch hit for you once on your blog or newsletter? A guy who pioneered blogging back in 1998 (when they called it journaling)? Now that sounds like FUN! Plus hey, free blog post (or newsletter article).

Let's Be Clear

Okay, you know how this works. If I'm writing for you, my intent is to deliver something really useful to the people who read what you do. But let's not sign me up for sainthood. I want the opportunity to entice people who read your stuff to consider coming over and peeking at MY stuff.

I thought the idea might be fun, especially since a lot of you have very different audiences than me, and work in different industries. I love the challenge of creating useful material that would be written in my unique style, but that would appeal to the people who read your newsletter or blog.

The Brass Tacks

Here's how it works:

  • I get to choose the people I say yes to. (I mean, let's not get crazy.)
  • You and I get to agree on the topic.
  • I'll give you a delivery date for the finished writing (at least 2 weeks out from when we agree on the topic).
  • In my post will be one (not a thousand, just one) link back to me and what I do, and it'll be tasteful and not disruptive.
  • I will create one guest post per person who takes me up on this. You can use this as you see fit.
  • I'll tweet to promote the post or tweet a link to your newsletter subscription page at least once (and I've got almost 345K followers).

So, Do You Want In?

If this sounds interesting, just drop me an email: [email protected] and write "Guest Post" in the subject line.

I think it might be fun. You tell me!
