Take A Look At The Progress You’ve Made!

Lately, I’ve been doing a little reflecting on the progress I’ve made. Where I started and where I am today. In some regards, I was doing this because I felt like I wasn’t making progress. Or as much progress as I want. I thought, like most, that I’d be further down the road than I am.
Turns out, that’s not how it works. You are where you are because of the work and choices you’ve made along the way. In some cases, it’s great. In others, you might think differently. In the end, it also means that because you are where you are due to the choices made, you can decide to change your choices. Moving forward, you can have an entirely different life.
Looking back on my own life, I’ve come a long way. Even over the last five years doing it on my own. Things haven’t always worked out like I’d hoped, but it’s worked out. I’ve learned a ton. Found a lot of ways to not do things. Found a few ways that work. Discovered what I’m great at and what I’m not.?
I’ve worked hard on my fitness and gone after big challenges. Some went well, others didn’t go the way I hoped. But I re-group, re-gather, and go back after it.

And that’s more my message today. No matter where you are, you’ve come a long way. You’ve learned a lot of lessons. You’ve picked up a lot of experience over the years. Whether it’s where you’ve dreamed about being or not. If it has, congratulations! If it’s not where you want to be, then now is the time to make some course corrections.?
And that course correction could be that you just have to keep going. Whether you need a little more fuel or you’ve just got to push through the storm of life - that’s a choice you’ll have to make for yourself.?
When I look back on my life, I’m grateful for all the experiences I’ve had. For everything I’ve been through. For the good times and bad. Because I still have a lot of life left to live and those experiences might not pay dividends today, but throughout my life they sure will.
That’s my second takeaway. Know that the lessons life is teaching you, whatever they might be aren’t necessarily redeemable today. They are to be redeemed when the time is right. Unfortunately, we don’t know when that time will come, just that it will.
