Running a business comes with all sorts of growing pains.
The challenge is knowing when to make the move and who you trust to have the conversation with.
Has it been a month already since the last Take the Lead?!
"What have you learned from the conversations you've been having with other business leaders?" I hear you ask.
I'm so glad all 5147 of you asked...
...it's been a busy March.
Highlights in the calendar such as IWD & Mother's Day. Noticing that the days are getting longer and a general feeling of spring has finally arrived.
Seems to me that when Spring arrives we all come out of hibernation. Seeing our neighbours over the garden fence. Getting together with friends and family as the days get warmer. Even striking out into nature to see the first blooms.
There have been some really interesting trends emerging from the conversations I've been having with other business owners.
A theme has emerged and I'm genuinely excited by this attitude that is burgeoning through.
There's lots of creativity around, a sense of wanting to make a difference in the world and simply knowing that whatever the idea is, it has to become a reality.
All of this takes real guts. It also means enlisting some help.
Who do you trust?
The first serious conversation has to be with yourself.
The hardest part is seeing past the negatives, facing the fears and doing it anyway because all we have is our best guess right now.
Forget what has gone before, that was likely only a practice run to get you closer to where you are today and where you want to be tomorrow.
Have you ever noticed that when you have a brilliant idea, you find yourself completely wrapped up in exploring the opportunities?
I was reminded of an element of what I do that is not something I actively speak about. Guess what?
Since openly bringing my problem solving abilities into conversations my opportunities to help clients has skyrocketed.
We can all loose little elements of who we are and what we do when we focus too broadly on the bigger picture.
The devil is in the data.
Take a long hard look at what you do, those little details that add up and do you see a pattern emerging that unlocks the who you can help?
I'd love to hear from you as to whether my own journey of discovery and sharing here gets you thinking.

It could be that you are not enjoying the work you're doing. It may be that you've outgrown the role and need to stretch yourself into something new, but what?
This was the case for Kevin Palmieri he shares where he was at the time in this clip:
Nothing, and I mean nothing, ought to get so bad that you feel like suicide. If you are feeling this way please reach out.
Continuing our conversation, it was apparent that this ultra low point was the turning point for Kevin to turn his life around.
Yes, it had gotten so bad that his work was affecting his personal life too.
Those growing pains we can all experience at points in our career tend to lead to a conversation with someone we trust, who will be honest to a fault.
Most people look for reassurance that they're not crazy (I don't mean mentally unbalanced) that what you picture in your head and describe can be imagined by them too.
Next steps will always be to have the conversations with the people that can help bring the imaginary to life.
Believe me when I say, there are people you already know that may know the people you need to know - you know, like 2nd and 3rd degree connections don't you know!
Trust in yourself, like Kevin did and you'll be the one to Take the Lead.
You'll find the full conversation on our website with show notes, transcript and ways to carry on the conversation with Kevin.
Finally, do you need help putting conversations back to the heart of your business to serve your customers? Head to my?ChinWAG?diary link to find a good time to chat.
LAST, THANKS A BUNCH FOR READING, SHARING, LISTENING AND SUPPORTING!
Remember, you never know where a conversation will lead...it's up to you to take the lead.
Stay Curious & Speak Soon,
Wendy
