Creating a transformation with individuals requires helping them to revisit childhood memories and support their ‘inner child’. Whenever I’ve worked deeply with my clients they can feel a bit spaced out. Having a conversation with your ‘six year old self’ can be rather trance inducing. Afterwards I use a simple technique that helps them to reconnect with their physical body helping them to gently transition from the faculty of their imagination into the real world. It’s a technique based on grounding. The Earth contains a beneficial flow of electrons that improves emotional balance and reduces stress. Releasing negative emotions causes electromagnetic pollution that dulls your energy and lowers your authentic charisma. When you place your bare feet on the ground you access a natural source of electrons that re-boots your natural sense of inner harmony.
Up until recently because of the climate here in the UK I do this using visualisation. “Imagine you are stood on a piece of soft earth. Imagine that there are roots sprouting from the soles of your feet and they are pushing down into the earth. Now imagine that these roots find a strong rock that they wrap themselves around causing you to feel strong, grounded and balanced.”
This technique was based on a superficial knowledge of grounding – whilst it works well, I’ve discovered that grounding is an immensely powerful process. According to prominent medical doctors, scientists and NASA astronauts the Earth contains free electrons that when in contact with the body improves your autonomic nervous system. Without a connection to this reservoir, the cells in our body are unable to balance the positive charge which results from things like electron-deficient free radicals. The effect of excess positive charge in the blood can be seen very clearly by the way in which the cells are attracted to clump together.
Our modern environment is full of a wide spectrum of electromagnetic radiation, from computers, mobile phones and masts, radio and TV broadcasts, WiFi, Bluetooth, power lines, domestic wiring, and other electrical appliances. This electromagnetic radiation induces voltage in our bodies, disrupting the trillions of subtle electrical communications which are a vital part of the function of our body’s systems. By being grounded to the Earth we greatly reduce the levels of these induced voltages, as we are then effectively shielded by the Earth’s large electrical mass.
A plethora of studies prove that regular and direct contact with the Earth has huge benefits for our emotional as well as our physical health. If you take time every day to stand barefoot on the ground you’ll experience:
- Decreased stress levels that switches your cells into a healthy growth operating mechanism. You feel calmer, more centred and more aligned with who you really are at your core.
- Improved wellness due to decreased levels of inflammation and pain. Your immune system is boosted so you experience less minor illnesses and an increase in your energy levels.
- Better sleep quality. There are so many factors in today’s lifestyle that sabotage our sleep patterns ranging from eating too late, Wi-Fi in the bedroom, an overactive mind and central heating. Grounding experiments show that when people physically reconnect with the earth their sleep is restored.
- Improved personal presence, higher levels of emotional intelligence and increased sensitivity that improves your ability to connect and build stronger relationships. Without the toxic overload of electrical pollutants your system becomes more vibrant and radiant.
I’m going to test this out for myself and have decided to brave the weather (I’ll have to hug a hot water bottle) and stand outside on the grass for 20 minutes every day for 21 days. I plan to record my experiences in a daily vlog that I’ll share on my YouTube channel – see CharismaNikki if you are curious. Why don’t you join me and share your own experiences – if daily grounding is as good as it appears we will all be dazzling by the Spring!
