Take the First Step - For the Future Female Leaders

From a Facebook group to a UN conference at the NYC headquarter, the growth curve skyrocketed within two years between 2017 and 2019. It was my story while running SHE Blockchainers Asia, the first Asian women in the blockchain community based out of Singapore.

Everyone experiences such a moment at least once in their lives. The invaluable lessons I had through this experience strengthened me and made of who I am now. A fresh graduate lady carefully asked me to meet up sometime in 2018 when I publicly announced that I plan to schedule at least one meeting for those who do not know about the blockchain every week. It was the time that blockchain was a mysterious treasure for many people. Explaining how blockchain works in a laymen's term was rare because no one could deeply understand the technology. She became one of the active industry peers soon after that meeting with me.

It inspired me in a way that it proved a saying, "the first time is always difficult, yet it's easy after one takes the first step". The young lady's curiosity and enthusiasm made her knock on the door, and I responded. I believe it made her job easy to go further by doing more.

When Petra asked me to join her initiative #RolemodelRebels, I said yes without hesitation. Her platform acquired mentors and mentees from 42 countries since its launch in May 2021 - within a month. I believe #RolemodelRebels is an excellent stepping stone for numerous next-generation leaders accelerating their growth momentum.
