Take Control of Your Life

How much responsibility do you take for your life?
When you look at the results you’re getting, do you divide them into things that were your fault and things that weren’t?
When it comes to life, it really doesn’t matter who was responsible for what. The reality is that you still live with 100% of the consequences. So pointing fingers serves no purpose.
In fact, saying that your life is the result of outside influences takes control out of your hands. It’s easy to blame challenging experiences on someone or something else. But unless you take total responsibility for your life now, you’ll never see any progress.
This means everything that happens from here on out is your responsibility. That includes the things you do, the progress you make, and the changes you see — whether intentional or not.
Now, when it comes to your wealth-building, it’s never going to be a smooth journey all the way. It’s just not. Sometime in the future something is going to happen that’s out of your control. It may not even be your fault.
But at some point, you’ve got to decide, “No matter what happens in the future, I’m still going to take unequivocal responsibility for where I am.” More importantly, though, you’ll take responsibility for what you do next. And when you take that responsibility, your decision-making power comes back into your life. You take back control.
Just remember – if you’re always blaming someone or something else, you’re saying that person or thing controls your life. You’re not in charge of your own future.
You’re at the whim of everything that’s going on around you. But once you make that step and take total responsibility — you’ll finally see real progress.
