Take Charge Of Your Health, Heal and Lower The Disease Burden On Your Liver

The liver is one of the most resilient and widely responsible organs of our body. It can be credited to performing over 500 vital functions. The bile secreted by the liver is responsible for detoxification and breaking down of complex fats before it is circulated to the rest of the body. A healthy liver is undoubtedly a key element to a healthy life. But, when the liver gets sick, multiple problems can follow.?

According to recent studies, alcohol-related liver disease (ALD) includes a range of disorders and is one of the most prevalent types of liver disease. The final stage of alcohol-related liver disease is Cirrhosis. Approximately 10 lakh patients are diagnosed with cirrhosis every year in India. The rate of which has increased over the years, with numerous studies showing prevalence ranging from 43.5% to 72%.?

NAFLD (non-alcoholic fatty liver disease) is another emerging cause of liver disease in India. It is recognized as a multisystem disease and has been associated with an increased risk of cardiovascular disease, chronic kidney disease, osteoporosis, and extrahepatic malignancy. India has become the first country in the world to identify the need to act on the management of NAFLD. Recent studies suggest that the prevalence of NAFLD is around 9% to 32% among the Indian population, with a higher prevalence in people having diabetes or are obese.??
