Take charge because you're always responsible!
Who was in charge? Aside from the truth, in the justice system the side with the best preparation and documentation determines who the victim is him. And innocent until proven guilty is a misnomer if you unfortunately chose or got stuck with the wrong attorney, and you didn't do something about it. Should you blindly trust that your attorney is going to put in the effort so you are provided with an adequate defense? Are you charged with a serious crime and your attorney tells you “Don’t worry I got this” and doesn’t discuss your options with you? That should be a clear indication that you’re barking up the wrong tree. Did your attorney hire an investigator to assist you with your defense? Don’t be afraid to ask questions or get a second opinion. That’s exactly what you should do if you were diagnosed with a serious illness. You would expect your doctor to discuss all the facets of your illness and possible remedies with you . Why not with your attorney? And you should have the right to choose or refuse prescribed treatment. How is this any different? Be proactive and do your own research. You need to be involved in the decision making process so you are in charge of your future. That’s called taking responsibility for your life. If you and your attorney do not see eye to eye, it may be time to get a different ride. This could be the most important time of you life to have courage and stand up for yourself. Not to do so could cost you dearly and for that you’re responsible!

7 年What a good analogy but clearly one has to walk in those shoes before they understand the real consequences of this statement. More importantly, as one who has walked in those shoes I can relate to those scenarios. If it was not for your intervention in my life I wouldn't be here posting this very comment today and for that I thank you very much for your unyielding persistence, integrity and truth-seeking skills. You are that guy and I would exhort all investigators should take a page from your playbook.
