Take a big step towards the future: breaking your limits feels so good!
Going beyond your limits, taking on a challenge: that’s exactly what our 'Unfreeze' challenges are about. So here are a few photos illustrating the progress of my “Unfreeze (your mind and body) with (paraplegic) yoga challenge".?
It is so good for me to use my whole body, to be out of the wheelchair and move without equipment?for a while! It is also challenging as these asanas/poses, are done without any assistance.
Disclaimer: these photos have been carefully selected (some "horror photos" have been self-censored) in order to achieve a minimum level of aesthetics and attractiveness (and Instagram-ability ;-) However, you may be surprised or shocked by the shape of my body; the thinness of my legs, the lack of symmetry of it all and the imperfection of the poses.
Having sustained a complete spinal cord injury, my muscles below the waist don’t work and are atrophied. Moreover, various fractures all over my body as well as a severe scoliosis have caused it to lose its original shape and balance. A” broken body” in so many ways! But I have to say it feels incredibly good to be able to mobilise it fully, and on my own terms.
Do you want to see more photos and videos? Visit my challenge page here.?If you would like to encourage me to make further progress with this yoga challenge, please make a donation on my page.??100% of your donation goes towards research to cure spinal cord injury.?This ongoing Unfreeze Challenge is supported by the Smart Group.
