Take Back Control Of Your Eating
When you have kids sometimes it feels like you have no control over what you eat.
You just eat whatever your partner cooks, and often you end up being a human dustbin finishing what your kids don't.
And then there are the evenings when the kids have finally gone to bed and you get the late-night munchies, mindlessly eating nuts, crisps, biscuits and other unhealthy snacks.
Worst of all you know you shouldn't but you just keep doing it and have no control over it.
Keep reading to understand why this happens.
Is it hunger, is it stress, or is it purely just a lack of discipline?
To be honest it could be a combination of all of the above.
But the biggest cause is environment.
You are likely fine when you are busy with work and preoccupied, perhaps you're in a different space.
But when you're at home and your environment changes, that's when you need to become more mindful, and not mindless with your eating.
If you have kids you are likely surrounded by biscuits, chocolate, crisps, crackers and plenty of other treats.
Note I used the word treat.
We use them as a treat for our children but because you're an adult you can eat as much as you like right? Haha
Unfortunately, that mindset is what will lead you to pile on the pounds and put yourself at risk of diabetes or worse.
The key to getting back control of your eating is to control your environment. Ensure those treats are not so easy to get to and even better to pre-occupy yourself, during times you typically snack.
Tomorrow I'm putting on a live workshop called Get Control Of Late Night Snacking with Expert Nutritionist and Award Winning Speaker Vanessa Sturman
We'll be sharing even more tips and strategies to help you take back control of your late-night eating habits.
If what I've said sounds familiar, then I'd love you to come along.
We start at 5.30 pm UK Time.

1 年Having kids certainly has made it harder, especially now that my daughter has started to bake yummy treats regularly and as you say they are TREATS for the kids but who stops me from eating them? For me it isn't the late night snacks, I'm fine after I've had dinner. It's the working from home and having them staring at me every time I walk into the kitchen!
