Take Advantage of Unity

"Great works can only be performed through unity, not uniformity."

Where are you seeking to do great things?

Perhaps you could tap into the power of unity to accomplish your objectives.

Unity and uniformity are different things.

Uniformity is things being the same, without variation.

Unity is things being part of one greater thing, contributing their variation to a collective whole.

Uniformity is critically important for efficiency and quality. Often, uniformity ensures that we are doing things right. But unity ensures purpose, collaboration, buy-in, and agreement to what is important. It is only through unity that we can accomplish truly great things.

Which do you need? And for what?

Recognize the distinction. Most efforts beyond ourselves require unity. That is challenging, but there are ways of thinking, mental habits, Positive Intelligence? techniques, and systematic approaches that can very reliably produce unity.

But just work with the concept for now. See how you can apply this “accomplish great things through unity” idea to your thinking and your work over the next few days.

? Take this challenge: Make this idea persist for yourself. See if you can remember this principle and continue to act on it this coming Monday.

(Or target the end of the week in which you read this article. Stretch it over a few days with all you have to do and see how many ways you can spot this principle in action in your own life!)

Turn this from just a thought into a habit!

Benefits accrue from our habits and ways of thinking. Make your habits serve you and the people around you.

If you would like help implementing this or exploring it further, send me a message or schedule some time. I’m always happy to help.

Wishing you unity of purpose,

–Steve
