How about instead of working on this project, I take this masterclass on productivity one on how to write a fully optimized article, another on how to optimize my LinkedIn profile, or how to make more money ……Stop!

Take action

For the longest time, I never figured out what I was always busy doing. I have always had well-structured to-do lists, notion boards, and Pomodoro timer techniques but still no progress.?

I was stuck in the vicious cycle of tutorial hell, I would be contemplating whether I should be writing my 1000 words of content or taking a 2-hour class on productivity.?

We all know what that means, procrastination, and wanting the easy way out.?

Option 1: Productivity Masterclass

Option 2: Write 1000 words

Option 1?

  1. Pick a pen and a notepad.
  2. Grab a cup of hot coffee
  3. ?Get a throw blanket and hop onto my coach, since it is a chilly morning.?
  4. Play the masterclass

The sitting position here is not at all dictated, you can sleep, lift your legs…?

Reasoning mind; I am learning, and I am adding some value to my life.?

But is that what you are doing??

Was it one of the goals you had set out to achieve this week?

?Probably Not.?

Option 2

  1. ?Get to my workstation
  2. Grab my keyboard
  3. Open tabs while doing my research
  4. Get the correct keywords
  5. Think, create an outline?
  6. Construct grammatically correct sentences
  7. Delete a redundant sentence
  8. Rewrite a paragraph?
  9. Check for grammar errors
  10. Edit, try figuring out whether the content is worth posting
  11. Try getting someone to read my work first, which might not be a walk in the park, and then post.?

I chose Option 1, I was already 3 sessions in. I found a mentor online, and I am complaining about being not productive. Funny right?

I know what to do but rather I am choosing the easiest way out which will not help if I do not act.?

Why Are You Not Taking Action?

Lack of Responsibility

You don’t want to be accountable. Being accountable puts you in a position of being questioned;

1.? Why have you not achieved this?

2. Why are things going the way they are going? Especially when things don’t go right.?

3. Why have you not achieved the goals you set for the first quarter??

You are avoiding being answerable to yourself.?

Your life will take a different shift that moment you decide to take full accountability for your own life.?

You have all the systems in place, a journal, a to-do list, and a vision board with your goals.

The next step is to take Action.?

Waiting For the Right Time

?“Right time?”, there will never be a right time.

?This is always another excuse we use to avoid taking responsibility.? The right time is always now, all you have to do is take action and start.?

?We tend to be swept away by our fears, that we are not good enough, we need to learn more, all those small voices in our heads.?

No time will come when you will feel ready if you do not take action to start now.

You become ready when you start learning from your mistakes and rectifying them.?

Obsessing Over Perfection.

Right now, I am tempted to check out my mentor’s blog to see whether my content structure is right.?

You are afraid of making mistakes, you are afraid that you will fail.

Longing for perfection is just fear.?

It will rob you of your time and you will never make progress. How about you take action, make a mistake, identify it, correct it and the next time you will not repeat the same mistake. That is progress.

No one was born an expert.

To be an expert, you will need to take action, make mistakes, learn from the mistakes, correct the mistakes, and iterate.?

Repetition will help you gain experience, you learn what works and what does not work.?

Lack of Motivation

“I have learned that Lack of motivation is not a thing.”

Choose discipline over motivation. How many times do you get motivation to do a habit that is good for you, especially when it makes you uncomfortable? Like having to wake up early and do an intense workout.??

We are always motivated to do something by external conditions, what if these factors did not exist, would we still do what we are supposed to be doing?

Distraction

Distractions do not always resemble screen time, people making noise outside or notifications. It can be that course you put away a while back, it can be a chore in the house like cleaning utensils.?

Fear of Success

You are afraid of your potential, and that is why you are not taking action.?

We are used to fear of failure, but did you know that you could be afraid of your success?

Could be you are afraid of the glory and responsibility that comes with success.?

You will be depriving yourself of growth both personally and professionally.?

To overcome this, you must learn to see yourself worthy of big accomplishments.?

Lack of Discipline

You could have the best productivity apps, the best vision boards, and the best system to accomplish those goals, but without discipline, they are all futile.

They will not make that dream of yours come true.?

Take action, create a routine around it, be consistent and you are on the right track.?

Why Do You Need To Take Action Now?

Enhances your Growth

With taking action comes growth, both professional and personal. You gain more knowledge and enhance your skills thus creating effectiveness and efficiency.?

You will be able to achieve the personal goals you set for your profession or as an individual.?

It is the way to Success?

Taking action is always the first step to success.?

You’re set for excellence in what you do or are passionate about, that moment when you decide to start and remain consistent.?

Incorporate having clear goals, having the right systems, and discipline.?

Establish Habits

After you take the first step, show up daily until it no longer feels like a struggle.?

In return, these habits increase your productivity, self-esteem, health, and your relationships.?

Helps You deal with challenges

When you take action, you are becoming adaptable to the challenges that you face daily.

In this case, you also ought to be open-minded and be willing to embrace any uncertainty.?

Builds your confidence

Our minds interpret taking action as our ability to accomplish something.?

Confidence on the other side is the belief we have in our skills and abilities.?

When we take action every day, we boost our confidence.?

Get out of your comfort zone and get it done.
