Cybersecurity firm Fortra has reported a rise in more convincing email scams targeting businesses, facilitated by generative artificial intelligence tools like ChatGPT. In the first quarter of 2023, a quarter of all reported corporate emails were classified as malicious or untrustworthy, with 99% categorized as impersonation attacks.?Fraudsters are leveraging AI to craft well-written email messages at scale, including language translation, making them harder to detect.
