Take Action with Climatetech Startups this Earth Month
Dear Friends of Greentown,
Happy Earth Month! As we’ve been celebrating here at Greentown, our team has taken a step back to appreciate the incredible climate action happening at our incubators every day—thanks to the efforts of entrepreneurs, corporate partners, investors, and other leaders to advance climate solutions.
Step into the lab at Greentown Boston and you’ll find?Eden, a startup that breaks rocks with electricity to enhance subsurface permeability for geothermal heat, geologic hydrogen, and more. In the office space upstairs, you’ll find?Carbon Negative Solutions, an?ACCEL?participant creating smart-city-ready, carbon-negative concrete products. Down south at Greentown Houston,?Mars Materials?is hard at work on its carbon-capture-based acrylonitrile, a sustainable version of the widely used substance that’s usually made from petrochemicals.?
In our?Greentown Go?programs at both incubators, you’ll find startups working intensively with corporates to create the partnerships that propel climatetech to market.?Go Make 2023?with Shell recently?wrapped up—involving CCUS tech and many pathways for collaborations—and?Go Build 2023?with Saint-Gobain will conclude at a?May 30 final showcase?featuring the cohort.?
As these programs finish up, we’re excited to be accepting applications for?Year 4 of the Carbon to Value Initiative—an accelerator from the Urban Future Lab at?NYU Tandon School of Engineering, Greentown, and Fraunhofer USA designed to catalyze the carbontech ecosystem. Carbontech startups at TRL 4-7 are welcomed to?apply by June 21.
If Earth Month has inspired you to act (even more!) on climate, here’s how you can get involved with Greentown and our startups:
As always, thank you for your commitment to climate action!
Warmly,
The Greentown Team
