Take 5 with our Veterans: Christopher Sheehan

This week we honor the brave men and women who have served our country, including many of our own employees at Take 5 Car Wash.

Christopher Sheehan: United Sates Army, 2007 – 2015, Officer – Captain

Christopher Sheehan, Take 5 Car Wash Director of Growth, served in the U.S. Army as a Captain from 2007 to 2015. During this time, he was stationed in several locations across the U.S. and was deployed abroad for operations in Spain, Kuwait, Iraq, and Afghanistan. Sheehan said he was inspired to join the military because he grew up with a history of family service during war time, dating back four generations.

The shared sense of purpose found when serving in the military that unites a group of completely diverse people makes Sheehan proud to be a veteran. He said this bond forged through hardship is something that can’t be replicated in any other profession.

“I am most proud of my lifelong bonds that were formed during my service - the feeling of building ties with people from all backgrounds and walks of life," Sheehan said. "I have been honored to be included in many former soldiers’ weddings, citizenship ceremonies, and birth announcements.”?

The time Sheehan spent in the military formed his “One Team, One Fight” mentality. This common military phrase serves as a reminder that all military members are on one team, working toward the same objectives. Since leaving the military, he has taken this principle and applied it in the workforce, embracing the idea that teams who collaborate well together usually win together.

Sheehan encourages others to take time this Veterans Day to find a way to connect with veterans. Whether it's through having a conversation with a veteran, visiting a memorial, or reading up on some famous veterans, the goal is to find a way to keep their sacrifices and memories alive.
