TAIYANGNEWS SOLAR PV PRICE INDEX - WEEK 32

TAIYANGNEWS SOLAR PV PRICE INDEX - WEEK 32

The TaiyangNews - All About Solar PV Price Index maintained another stable week in Calendar Week (CW) 32. Polysilicon prices stood their levels since seeing mid-single-digit price declines in CW25. After 10 consecutive weeks of no price movements, the wafers category saw its first change in CW32. While all cell types were flat WoW, prices for TOPCon n-type cells have seen declines of up to -8.6% MoM. Module prices remained unchanged WoW in CW32, and solar glass prices too remained stable WoW.

Following the recent trend of relative stability, the TaiyangNews PV Price Index saw another stable week in Calendar Week 32.

Polysilicon prices have maintained their levels since seeing mid-single-digit price declines in CW25.

After 10 consecutive weeks of no price movements, the wafers category saw its first change in CW32. The p-type 210 mm wafer declined -5.4% from CW31, the only product in our listing to see a change this week.

While all cell types were flat WoW, prices for TOPCon n-type cells have seen declines of up to -8.6% MoM.

Module prices remained unchanged WoW in CW32. Modules have been the most stable category in the TaiyangNews PV Price Index by far this year.

Solar glass prices were stable WoW, after the 3.2 mm solar glass declined -1.9% and the 2.0 mm (thinner) glass declined -4.2% in CW30.

While there has been relative stability over the last 8 weeks, the TaiyangNews PV Price Index has seen considerable declines in CY2024. All Chinese polysilicon types have crossed the -40.2% mark YtD. Among wafers, the n-type 182 mm variant has lost exactly half its value YtD, at -50.0%. Declines in cell prices are approaching -40.0% YtD, while modules have been relatively stable so far this year, losing only up to -21.6%.

TAIYANGNEWS EVENTS

Block #August27, 2024, for TaiyangNews Solar & Sustainability 2024 Virtual Conference

The sustainability of products is gaining attention these days, driven by both government legislation and growing awareness in the society. When you look at solar stakeholders along the value chain both up-and-down-stream, the sector is now quickly embracing everything ESG-related.

In our 2nd TaiyangNews Solar & Sustainability Conference, we will look into the main themes being pursued in the PV sector – from supply chain transparency, carbon footprint reduction in manufacturing, sustainable system operations and how to deal with solar products at the end of their long service life.

The Conference will take place on #August27, 2024, from 09:30 – 12:30 CEST. You can register for #free by clicking on this link: https://taiyangnews.info/our-events/aug-27-2024-taiyangnews-solar-sustainability-2024-conference

We look forward to your presence.

Block #September9 2024 for RE+ Conference: How to Manufacture Solar Wafers, Cells and Modules Competitively in the United States

The Inflation Reduction Act (IRA)?has sparked a resurgence in US solar manufacturing, leading to the announcement of over 126 new or expanded solar manufacturing capacity projects across the country, creating more than 35,000 jobs and attracting over $17 billion in investments, according to the US Department of Energy. Now the first manufacturing projects are coming online, while many companies are still in the development phase. Given the highly dynamic and challenging environment for equipment manufacturers in international markets, the US market landscape offers significant opportunities and substantial untapped potential.

Hosted by TaiyangNews - All About Solar , EUPD Research and RE+, the Conference will provide a 360-degree view on manufacturing along the silicon value chain with emphasis on technology in wafer, cell and module manufacturing.

The?“Solar Made in USA: How to Manufacture Solar Wafers, Cells and Modules Competitively in the United States” Conference at RE+ will be a platform for everyone looking seriously into this topic – from investors, policy makers and technologists, including equipment makers and material suppliers. This event is about bringing stakeholders together to exchange on the most effective pathways for truly reshoring US solar manufacturing.

The Conference will take place on September 9, 2024 (Monday) from 9:00 am – 5:00 pm at the Anaheim Convention Center, California, 1 day before the trade show starts.
