Tainted Love
Man Ray 1930 by Christian Satin, 2014

Tainted Love

There are many things that confound and confuse

My heart that once more does risk beating

But worst; Mine agrees on who your heart does choose

Yet also desires your heart chooses cheating

The logic is absurd and not at all sound,

For it poisons any love I would be winning.

Who can trust love that deceives to be found

With both hearts all too aware they are sinning?

Yet our bodies entwined, your soft cheek on my arm,

The touch of your skin; such wondrous bliss.

We know two hearts not as one can cause only harm.

A foul pact I would gladly seal with a kiss.

So instead it might be all for the best

And for this romance we should call it a day

And chance that in a future lover's quest

We meet again with no barrier in our way.
