?? TikTok’s Future in the United States ??
TikTok’s future in the United States remains uncertain. ByteDance missed the deadline to sell TikTok’s U.S. assets, and the app was temporarily removed from U.S. app stores. However, President Donald Trump has granted a 90-day extension, buying time for further negotiations.
?? Key Points ??
Deadline Missed: TikTok failed to divest its U.S. assets by January 19, triggering the removal from app stores.
Temporary Extension: Trump’s 90-day extension could provide the time needed to work out a solution.
Possible Merger: Perplexity AI has proposed a merger with TikTok, potentially allowing the platform to continue operating while addressing regulatory concerns.
You may be wondering how the looming TikTok ban is related to AI...That's where Perplexity comes in.
?? Perplexity AI and the Proposed Merger ??
Perplexity AI is making waves with a proposal to merge with TikTok’s U.S. division. This would combine TikTok’s video content with Perplexity’s AI-powered search platform.
?? Why Does This Matter? ??
AI-Driven Search: Perplexity’s search platform could offer a more personalised user experience, enhancing TikTok’s content discovery.
Strategic Benefits: This merger would help TikTok tackle regulatory challenges and keep operating in the U.S.
Uncertainty Remains: The deal is still under regulatory review, and it could take months to finalise.
Whether TikTok stays or goes, the digital landscape is changing rapidly. Marketers should be prepared for whatever comes next.

?? OpenAI Announces Operator – The Next-Level AI Agent ??
This week OpenAI have launched Operator, an AI-powered agent that can handle browser tasks for you!
Currently in its research preview, Operator is available for Pro users in the U.S. and promises to revolutionise how we interact with websites.
?? What You Need to Know ??
Task Automation: Operator uses its browser to complete tasks like filling forms, ordering groceries, or booking travel.
User Control: You stay in control with easy-to-use privacy settings and confirmation prompts.
Powered by CUA: CUA (Computer-Using Agent) combines the powerful language capabilities of GPT-4o with vision and reasoning skills, allowing it to "see" and interact with websites like a human would.
?? What Can It Do? ??
Automate everyday tasks like shopping, form-filling, and more – you can have Operator manage multiple tasks at once, such as booking travel while ordering a personalised gift.
CUA allows the Operator to visit websites, look at things like images and text, and make decisions on what to do next.
It can click buttons, fill in forms, and even help with tasks like shopping, just like you would on your computer.
This combination of vision and reasoning makes the AI smarter and more capable of completing tasks independently.
? Safety First ?
User Oversight: Operator will ask you for input when making sensitive decisions like payments.
Privacy Protection: Easily delete your browsing data and opt out of model training.
?? What Are The Limitations? ??
While Operator can handle simple tasks, it’s still learning when it comes to more complex ones, like managing calendars or creating slideshows.
OpenAI is taking a huge step toward bringing AI into everyday digital workflows, but there’s still plenty of room to grow.
Interested in giving it a try? Operator is currently available to Pro users in the U.S.
If you're in the UK, you'll need to wait until this is available, but we can see how OpenAI users in the U.S. interact with this new feature and learn from their tests.
This is a huge step in AI advancement and introducing AI Agents which are the future ?? What tasks would you ask Operator to handle? Let us know in the comments below! ??
?? The Rise of AI Agents: Redefining the Workplace in 2025 ??
Building on our discussion of OpenAI’s Operator, our CTO, Alex Velinov , breaks down the transformative potential of AI agents which are reshaping how we work by automating repetitive tasks and making intelligent decisions.
?? What Are AI Agents? ??
AI agents are software systems that operate independently, making decisions and taking actions to achieve goals without constant human input.
They combine technologies like machine learning and natural language processing to perceive, analyse, and adapt to their environments.
?? Key Features ??
Autonomy: Operates independently.
Perception & Learning: Gathers data and improves over time.
Goal-Oriented Actions: Executes tasks strategically to achieve specific objectives.
?? How They’ll Impact Work ??
Task Automation: From scheduling to analysing large datasets, AI agents take over repetitive work.
Enhanced Productivity: Employees will focus more on creativity and strategy.
Personalised Assistance: AI agents will anticipate needs and streamline workflows.
New Roles: Careers like “prompt engineers” and “AI personality designers” will emerge.
?? Who Will Be Affected Most? ??
Most Likely: Administrative, legal, and customer service roles due to their repetitive nature.
Least Likely: Jobs requiring hands-on skills, like construction and repair.
By 2025, AI agents will transform industries, creating opportunities for innovation while presenting challenges requiring ethical considerations.
Whether through OpenAI’s Operator or other tools, AI is already unlocking new possibilities, the question is...are you ready to adapt?
?? How Do We Use AI Agents At Tag Digital? ??
It's all well and good sharing this information on AI Agents but you may be wondering how you can put it into practice for your business.
We’re proud of the work we have done over the last year to be one of the pioneers for AI within the industry by being open to change and innovating our processes.
We’ve developed specialised AI agents to streamline how we work and enhance efficiency for all aspects of our business, including:
1?? Events AI Agent: Provides 24/7 support for event visitors for our own events – DigitX, ensuring our attendees have all the information they need.
2?? Company Brain: We built our first digital employee, Apollo, who is capable of answering internal queries based on company documentation and procedures.
3?? Sales AI Agent: We are currently working on this agent who will engage with potential customers by answering product and service questions, generating leads, and pre-qualifying prospects for our sales and marketing team.
These agents embody the potential of AI to automate repetitive tasks, assist our team, and improve customer interactions, all while learning and adapting over time.
Here's a fun fact for you all – Your team are spending on average 20% of their time looking for stuff – whether that's internal documentation or access to the right information ??
If you joined any of our events or workshops last year you would have heard about Apollo, our Company Brain, who has truly transformed our knowledge management and acts as a 24/7 resource for our team.
Apollo holds all company knowledge in a single platform, streamlining the process of answering internal queries and saving middle management an average of 40 days per year.
Why wouldn't you want to make your internal processes more efficient and give that time back to your team?
We'll let Apollo introduce himself ??
While AI agents do use the latest technology, they’re not an entirely new concept. Early forms, like website chatbots, have been helping businesses and customers since the late 1990s.
These early chatbots relied on rule-based systems and laid the foundation for the advanced AI agents we use today.
By incorporating machine learning and natural language processing, modern AI agents offer far more dynamic and intelligent support for you and your business.
What do you think? Can you see your company embracing the new wave of AI Agents? This is a huge step for AI and all digital platforms. Let us know what you think in the comments ??

?? How Can Marketers Use Generative AI Creatives? ??
Generative AI is transforming the way we approach creativity in digital marketing, especially when it comes to imagery and video.
By using text prompts, this technology allows us to create custom, one-of-a-kind visuals that can elevate event marketing campaigns.
This has been a driver for success in the last year with our paid advertising campaigns and our clients who have embraced this option have come out ahead with unique creatives and outstanding results.
?? Why Do These Creatives Work? ??
When it comes to paid advertising, the shared goal is always to stand out and catch the eye of your target audience for your event.
Targeting Millennials & Gen Z: These generations consume an overwhelming amount of content—videos, GIFs, TikToks, and reels. To cut through the noise, event banners need to be more engaging and dynamic than ever.
Leveraging Generative AI: By incorporating AI into your creative process, you can create visually striking banners that grab attention and drive users to click through to your event websites.
Staying Relevant & Compelling: In a crowded digital space, AI-generated imagery ensures that your promotional materials are not just relevant but also compelling and eye-catching.
A Game-Changer for Event Marketing: Generative AI is revolutionising how event marketing is done, offering fresh, innovative ways to capture audience attention.
Why This Matters: As this technology evolves, it presents exciting opportunities for marketers to stay ahead of the curve and continue to engage audiences in creative ways.
?? What's Next? ??
We’ve taken things to the next level by developing Generative AI Brand Story Videos, designed to shake up digital marketing for events.
Captivating & Personalised Narratives: These videos help craft a unique brand story that resonates with your audience, bringing your brand to life in a way that builds trust and awareness.
Lasting Impressions: Perfect for showcasing your brand’s unique value, these AI-driven videos ensure you leave a lasting impression on your audience.
We tested this new innovation for final stop of the DigitX Moments Roadshow last year, the purpose of this video style is to step away from your strict brand guidelines and tell a story to your target audience.
