TADEX ?URAWIE and GEDA set new standards for safety and efficiency

TADEX ?URAWIE, a leading company for safety and efficiency at construction sites in Poland, presents one of its key projects: the introduction of vertical transport devices for crane operators on the rental market. This innovative project additionally includes a comprehensive demonstration and training programme for crane operators and supervising inspectors, which will be available at the headquarters of TADEX ?URAWIE in Poznań.

The project requires the use of one of the flagship products from manufacturer GEDA GmbH – the GEDA?2?PK crane operator hoist. The renowned Bavarian manufacturer, a longstanding partner of TADEX ?URAWIE, provides its comprehensive expert knowledge and experience in the field of vertical transport. With over 90?years of experience in the construction industry, GEDA products have become indispensable at construction sites all over the world.

GEDA?2?PK hoists have been developed specifically for safe and fast transport of crane operators and service engineers to guarantee efficient working at great heights.

TADEX ?URAWIE already have GEDA?2?PK hoists in their range for sale and hire on the Polish market. The?company also takes on the important role and responsibility of installing and servicing these devices. This allows crane operators and service engineers to reach their workstation efficiently and without physical exertion.

Using such means of transport not only results in substantial time savings, but also increases productivity and significantly lowers costs, especially during 8-hour shifts where the operator’s working time runs from entering until exiting the construction crane. Once in the cab, the operator does not need any additional rest time, enabling them to start working in a precise and safe manner.

In addition to this, the GEDA?2?PK hoist reduces downtime of the crane in case of a failure, with faster repair times as a crucial factor. The hoist also improves access to the cab and allows the crane to be lowered quickly in case of poor weather. Evacuation of an operator requiring medical attention is another key role of the hoist.

In countries such as the Netherlands, France and parts of Scandinavia, it is a legal requirement that crane operators are transported to their workstation by hoist already from a height of 30?metres – a rule that will surely be introduced in other countries as well.

Quality “Made in Germany”

The GEDA?2?PK is a product that has been known for its flexibility and safety for over 25 years. The system has been becoming increasingly popular in Poland as well. One special advantage of the GEDA?2?PK is its compatibility will all crane brands, which is a key criterion for hire companies. The crane operator hoist can reach a height of up to 150?metres and offers space for up to two persons, with a maximum capacity of 200?kg.

One impressive example that underlines the market position of TADEX ?URAWIE in this field is the construction of a modern water park in Lubin, which is set to become one of the great leisure attractions in southwestern Poland. This construction site uses Liebherr cranes, one of which is equipped with a GEDA?2?PK with a travel height of 43?metres. All these devices were supplied and installed by TADEX ?URAWIE. The new aqua park is scheduled to be completed in 2025.

The patented components of the GEDA?2?PK, like the quick-release for the ladder sections and the integrated cable conduit, set new standards in terms of safety and performance. The car moves with a speed of 24?metres per minute, replacing the cumbersome climb up a crane ladder. Without the GEDA?2?PK, a crane operator would need around 12.5?minutes to climb the 60?metres up to the cab, with great physical exertion. With the hoist, on the other hand, they can cover this distance in no time at all. This not only increases efficiency, but also protects the health of the employees.

More attractive for skilled workers and safer for everyone

The use of hoists like the GEDA?2?PK, especially on construction cranes, has a positive impact on the skills shortage. By reducing physical strain, workers can remain in their profession longer, which benefits older employees in particular. Companies that offer such innovative tools can position themselves as attractive employers and improve their opportunities in the competition for qualified skilled workers.

In addition to this, the GEDA?2?PK minimises the risk of accidents and injuries for service engineers by offering safe transport of tools and materials. With intelligent safety features like a speed-based emergency brake and electrical safety components, the crane offers maximum protection against operating errors.

Rescuer in emergency situations

In case of an emergency, the GEDA?2?PK can even save lives. If the crane operator has a serious medical emergency, the hoist makes a rapid rescue operation possible, offering an effective and economical alternative to expensive operations involving a special-purpose lift or helicopter.
