Tackling the VR hardware problem for Educators
Virtual reality content continues to expand in scope and possibility. It's ability to immerse students into other cultures and events has immense educational value. The biggest hinderance, up until now, has been how to access the growing content in an affordable, easy-to-use manner. Educators are already using off the shelf VR applications like Google Expeditions, Discovery VR, Nod, and many others, but the missing piece has always been the low cost hardware for students.
Today, DODOcase is launching the VR Scholastic Pack with the Menlo Park City School District at their L3 - Learn. Lead. Launch. event with over 300 educators attending. Menlo Park, CA and other Bay Area school districts are leading the pack infusing tech into the field of education. We recognized after our first VR experiences in 2014, that VR would be an amazing tool for educators. We are thrilled to see both the quality and diversity of content truly enable new educational experiences, and we are eager to share them with students everywhere.
DODOcase, Google's first partner in the 'Works with Cardboard' program, introduced its first VR viewer in 2014 and has been an integral player in the growth of access to VR content. The VR Scholastic Pack is a natural next step in providing access to main stream American students by breaking the entryway barrier. Our hope is that students everywhere can begin taking advantage of the power of VR to expand their perspectives. Please help us spread the word and extend the amazing possibilities of virtual reality. Thank you, Emilie
