Tackling mental health in our future generation

Through Dad4Daughters I've become increasingly aware of the mental health challenges young people face today in both education and the workplace. There is much more that needs to be done, so I'm really proud that my daughter is taking action by fundraising for the charity YoungMinds and she hopes that some of you will contribute to her efforts. Here's her perspective:

"On the 27th/28th July, my friend and I are walking 100km for YoungMinds on the Chiltern Challenge. As a 16 year old, I understand the huge pressure our generation is under and have experienced the damaging effects this can have on many. In a classroom roughly ? have a diagnosable mental health issue. This is the upcoming generation we are talking about; the people who will carry our society forward; the people who will make decisions that will affect everyone. Therefore, it is imperative that we have the support we need in order to reach our full potential and do the world justice. There is help for people struggling but not enough people reach out. We need to break the stigma and talk about it or this situation cannot improve. We need charities like YoungMinds working with young people teaching them how to build resilience and cope in their individual lives. I am extremely passionate about the work that YoungMinds do and even the smallest donation can make a huge difference in someone’s life."

Here's the link if you feel able to support my daughter's fundraising efforts.
