Unlock Superior Guest Experiences with Advanced Delivery Management Technology
Third-party services like UberEats and DoorDash have carved out a large piece of the delivery pie – but not without complications. While they may expand reach, they also undermine your restaurant’s control over the delivery process and, most importantly, the guest experience.

IN THE NEWS?
More restaurants are moving to handle their own delivery
Many restaurants are starting to ditch third-party apps and bring their delivery in-house. Most recently, Bok a Bok Fried Chicken in Seattle announced a major shift to in-house delivery. They want to maintain control over their brand experience, which they can’t do when using third-parties. When the food costs a lot and the quality is inconsistent, it’s not hard to see why restaurants feel delivery needs a shake up.
New report shows interesting data about delivery in NYC
A new report from New York sheds a light on delivery fees and efficiency. Since they increased wages in January, driver wages are up 56% — but tips are now down 59%. This is a clear indication that as delivery fees increase, consumers tip less to keep the final cost more reasonable. The report also says that drivers are delivering less than 2 deliveries per hour, which is extremely inefficient. This data seems to tell us that the current delivery model is too slow and costs too much. Restaurants who can figure out how to do it more efficiently and cost effectively will get ahead.

DoorDash intensifies efforts to mitigate unsafe driver behavior
In response to complaints about unsafe driving and other violations, DoorDash is working to address these behaviors among its drivers. But with over 99,000 drivers in NYC alone, monitoring each one for compliance with traffic laws, vehicle registration requirements, and account usage seems like a daunting task. This situation adds another layer of complexity and concern for restaurants who rely on apps like DoorDash, and what they stand to risk.
