#TabletTuesday: The Green Magic: Mixhers SuperGreens - Fab or Fad?

#TabletTuesday: The Green Magic: Mixhers SuperGreens - Fab or Fad?

Let's start with an introduction into Mixhers, who they are and where do they come from.

After facing increased period symptoms post-twins and receiving advice to rely on ibuprofen, Jess Toolson has one question: Why isn't there a natural solution? This prompted a thorough search, leading to a holistic health practitioner ( Cody Sanders ) who revealed nature's remedies for hormone regulation and inflammation reduction.

Following two years of rigorous research and testing, Mixhers introduced Hertime, a product crafted by women, for women, to empower healthier menstrual experiences. Motivated by personal struggles and a passion for global wellness, the founder embarked on a mission to normalize period discussions and provide comprehensive support to women worldwide.

Driven by the belief that periods connect women universally, Mixhers aims to revolutionize menstrual care through education, nourishment, and empowerment.

Following a LinkedIn recommendation, I connected with Savannah Benson and Cody Sanders from Mixhers to explore the world of super greens powders tailored for female health. Our conversation delved into the diverse ingredients found in such products and their unique impacts on women's health.

As we explored the hormonal fluctuations experienced by women, I expressed my overwhelm with the options available. Specifically, I shared my concerns about the PMS symptoms I regularly face leading up to my period.

Kindly, Savannah and Cody sent me a 30-day trial of their Hertime and Hergreens products, prompting me to embark on an honest review.

Are Mixhers' offerings a fabulous addition to my routine or just another passing fad?

hergreens

Let's start with the HerGreens powders, I was so sceptical because I HATE matcha, it tastes like grass and I just can't get on board with it. This powder claims to balance nutrition, replenish nutrients, support gut health and help detox.

I was pleasantly surprised by the variety of flavours offered by Mixhers' super greens powders: Mango, Apple and Pomegranate, and Pink Grapefruit. None of them left behind any strange aftertaste (which most reviews of greens powders say they do). Personally, I found the Mango and Apple flavours most enjoyable. Although I must admit I wasn't as fond of the Pink Grapefruit. It was very sweet/tart and I did struggle to drink this one, complete personal preference as a colleague of mine loved it.

If I were to opt for a single flavour for a continuous 30-day period, it would undoubtedly be mango. Its delicious taste, devoid of any artificial notes, and the absence of any lingering aftertaste make it a clear favourite for me.

Does it debloat?

Okay, I'll admit, this might be a bit too much information. But I couldn't ignore the noticeable effect it had on reducing bloating - it worked surprisingly fast. ??

I found my stomach feeling flatter, and I'd say the claim of 'helps detox' is spot on. To be honest, I'll leave this one here.

On another note -

While it's not a highlighted claim on their website, perhaps due to its high nutritional value, I've observed a remarkable improvement in my skin! It's been looking plumper, less puffy in the morning, and remarkably blemish-free (which is quite rare for me). I've even received compliments on how my skin looks!

Would I take it long-term?

Yes, 100%. I would take the Mango flavour everyday. It's nice to consume, I look healthier and it's been great for my gut health. Fab in my opinion and would recommend you try it for yourself!

hertime

I was super excited to try this as the reviews speak so highly of the product. I had never tried anything to regulate my mood swings during PMS. The Hertime powder boasts claims to soothe menstrual cramps, stabilise mood swings, alleviate bloating, and support a normal cycle.

The taste was delicious, with not a single flavour I disliked. Juicy Peach, Strawberry Lemonade, and Raspberry Refresher – they all have an essence of summer and one pour away from a cocktail - truly enjoyable.

However, I found myself uncertain about when to start taking it in my cycle, especially considering the packet recommends up to 90 days for full benefits. Given my intense PMS symptoms, I believe I'd need to give it the full 90 days for an honest review.

I took it alongside the greens powders, and in terms of reducing bloating, they seemed to complement each other well. While my menstrual cramps have been shorter, I haven't noticed any significant changes in other PMS symptoms.

Recognising that regulating hormones may require more than just a few weeks, I plan to conduct another review later in the year to provide a more comprehensive assessment.

Other things to note -

I found that both powders required a whisk and would recommend you buy this along with the powders to make sure they're well mixed up.

In conclusion, my experience with Mixhers' products has been both insightful and promising. While my initial skepticism was present, the delicious taste and potential benefits of the Hertime powder have intrigued me. Though my trial period was relatively short, I believe a longer commitment is necessary to fully evaluate its effectiveness in alleviating PMS symptoms and supporting hormonal balance.

I'd like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Mixhers for providing me with the opportunity to try their products. It's evident that they are dedicated to empowering women's health through thoughtful formulations and genuine care.
