Tableau does not release regional numbers, but this may give you an indication…

Let's have a look at how strong the community in Germany, Austria and Switzerland already is. Tableau started its operation in Germany in fall 2012 by hiring its first two Germany-based employees - both working remotely from their home offices. The team grew quickly and in early in 2014 we opened our office in the heart of Frankfurt. We managed to evangelize the market and let the business world know there is a new way of doing analytics. From there, our customer and partner community grew rapidly.

Naturally, we felt it we had to host a Tableau Conference on Tour in Germany. We chose Munich as the hosting city and set a date for June 2014. We booked a part of the conference rooms in the Sofitel Munich and set ourselves a goal of 100 tickets sold - an virtually unachievable number. It took a huge effort to fill the room, but we made it and gathered the fledgling Tableau family in Munich. We had a handful of customer speakers and some great partners supporting us. The audience mainly consisted of early adopters who believed in our vision and wanted to learn more about how to use Tableau for themselves and for their company. During the Data Night out in the Augustiner Keller everybody was reassuring each other that this Tableau thing would take off and we were on the right track.

After this great start, we decided to bring the Tableau conference to Berlin for 2015. We booked the SAS hotel in Berlin and set ourselves a target of 200 attendees this time - why not reach for the sky? The idea was that each attendee from last year would return and bring a friend. To back up this plan, we even convinced Christian Chabot - our Co-founder and at that time CEO - to keynote the event. We had 10 great sponsors and great speakers from swisscom, Fielmann Ventures, Erste Bank Group, gutefrage.net, Stylight sharing their Tableau stories. We also had our awesome Tableau Presales Team showcasing on how to use Tableau in the best way. With this set up and many, many phone calls from everybody we were able to sell out the event and threw a great party in Berlin. The atmosphere at the event was great and knowledge levels had increased a lot - more and more people had stories to share on how Tableau had changed their life and boosted their career.

Why not double it again in 2016? We went back to Munich in July 2016 and this time we took over the entire Sofitel. Since many of the Data Scientists throughout DACH only speak English, we were running a bi-lingual event in German and English. We sold out again and squeezed in more than 450 people. We had 15 fantastic customer speakers from Siemens, Credit Swiss, Randstad, BMW, win2day, HAVI, KPMG, Accenture, Minodes, Questback, hetras, Intro Aviation, Accenture. Not only did they share their personal Tableau story, but also how they succeeded in scaling Tableau across the Enterprise. The knowledge levels of the audience had increased again. It was no longer a question of whether Tableau would change the way people do Analytics but how fast the adoption would go. Thanks to the support of our partners we were able offer additional hands-on workshops, more Tableau doctor sessions and a great data night out at the BMW museum.

So here are we now in 2017 - and we faced the challenge to find a venue big enough to host the Tableau Conference on Tour in 2017. And I have to admit we failed - we were not be able to find a venue for 800+ people in a keynote room and provide us with enough breakout rooms to host all Tableau and Customer presentations, hands-on workshops, as well as training and certification sessions. (I hope this will not impact my Performance Review :-) )

But we did find a very cool venue with the hotel 'Berlin, Berlin' in -you guessed it - Berlin. We will be able to host up to 600 people in the keynote room and have a huge number of breakout rooms, allowing us to provide all the sessions our community has asked for.

The Tableau Conference on Tour Berlin will take place September 11-13 in Berlin.

So if you would like to reserve one of the limited seats and save some money in the process, register now and benefit from our early bird discount of 300€ which runs until June 1st.

What you can expect from the event:
