What is it?


Well, here's something I have recently been working on with a very humble and super leader and entreupeneur Wesley Ashcroft-Batty .



As a training provider, Tipi Training and Coaching has always believed in the power of values, failure as a learning opportunity, and continuous people development.


Recently, we had the privilege of working closely with TAB Recruitment, a dynamic team with a mixture of experience from cross sectors to co-create an idea and development strategy that would elevate their customer experience for candidates and foster stronger relationships.

The focus was on understanding and enhancing emotional intelligence within the team to achieve these goals.


The journey began with a comprehensive training analysis conducted at TAB Recruitment's office in Cheshire. From the moment I stepped into their workspace, I was greeted by an energetic, vibrant, and focused team operating in a beautiful environment.


Values matter


One standout factor was the alignment of values between myself and Tab Recruitment Director, ?Wes. Our shared belief in the importance of fair and transparent values, embracing failure as a stepping stone to success, and investing in people development set the foundation for a truly collaborative partnership.

Designing and delivering ‘sticky’ training interventions


The core of yesterdays workshop revolved around helping the team to understand their individual communication styles and those of their candidates. By gaining insight into their own preferences and communication patterns, they could tailor their approach to resonate better with candidates, leading to improved interactions and stronger connections.


The benefits of understanding one's communication style and that of their customers are manifold:

Improved Communication: When team members recognise their communication strengths and areas for improvement, they can adapt their style to suit different candidates. This leads to clearer, more effective communication and a deeper understanding of candidate needs.


Enhanced Customer Experience: Candidates are more likely to engage with recruiters who can relate to their preferences and communicate effectively. A candidate-centric approach builds trust and rapport, ultimately improving the overall customer experience. Let’s be honest, the market is saturated, however Wes and his team are on the quest to disrubt customer excellence to work with candidates in the best way that they can, in?super- efficient manner!


Conflict Resolution: Understanding communication differences reduces misunderstandings and conflicts within the team and with candidates. It fosters a harmonious work environment where differences are celebrated and leveraged for better outcomes. This is key to personal development and the culture within Tab Recruitment.

Personal Growth and Emotional Intelligence: Self-awareness is a crucial aspect of emotional intelligence. By becoming aware of their communication style, team members can work on their emotional intelligence, leading to better emotional regulation and empathetic interactions.


Has Watsap had its day?


In addition to focusing on team communication, we also explored how candidates are changing the way they communicate. Statistics show that the younger generation (ages 18-20) prefers using instant messaging platforms like "I message" and is less likely to use WhatsApp. Being aware of such trends empowers TAB Recruitment's team to adapt their communication strategies, staying relevant to the preferences of their target audience.


Purposeful breaks that enable better cognition


Furthermore, ?Wes and the team have introduce a time-blocking approach to their day-to-day work.


The concept revolves around intrinsic motivation and purpose.

Encouraging the team to take breaks with a purpose allows them to recalibrate their cognitive abilities and nurture their general well-being. This approach has been proven to boost productivity, creativity, and overall job satisfaction.

Sounds like a great place to work. Not only is it important to re-calibrate/focus but to also to ensure the candidate is at the heart of everything you do as a recruiter. Unfortunately, within the Industry, keeping the candidates engaged and informed is becoming a second thought, so great to see organising taking a step towards a clearer communication method that suits the candidate ??
