[BRAZIL] Move for a cause

On 21 October, SYSTRA Brasil employees, friends and family were invited to take part in the 4th edition of the 'Move for a Cause' event, a day full of physical activities aimed at strengthening bonds and promoting quality of life.

Human Resources Manager RAFAEL RIQUETTO tells us a little about the reasons behind making this a recurring event for SYSTRA: "I learnt about ABRATOP (Brazilian Olympic and Paralympic Triathlon Association) at an event I attended a few years ago. I found the structure of the event itself very interesting, as well as the possibility of encouraging physical activity among employees and also helping a sports institution in the context of Social Responsibility, a much-needed issue in Brazil. Now 'Move for a Cause' is on our annual calendar and portrays the essence of our connected teams: together we positively impact the society of which we are a part and do business."

As well as encouraging exercise, the event promoted the sale of exclusive kits (T-shirt and backpack), the proceeds of which were donated to ABRATOP.

[SWEDEN] Assistance with the initial phases of the Gullmarsplan interchange project in Stockholm

SYSTRA has been commissioned to support the Transport Administration, Region Stockholm, with expertise in architecture, traffic, construction, railways and economic planning to produce an action selection study for the Gullmarsplan interchange.

The project represents a significant milestone in SYSTRA's development of its business in early planning phases and strategic planning.

Today, the interchange contains the metro's green line, the crossrail, several city bus lines and bus traffic from large parts of the southern parts of Region Stockholm. In 2030, the interchange will be expanded with the blue line of the metro and possibly additional city bus lines.

At an earlier stage of the process, the project has identified several different needs. These include the capacity needed for public transport to meet population growth and its travel demand, and the ability to use attractive land efficiently. In addition, reliable journey times and efficient transfers are needed, as well as well-dimensioned and well-organised spaces.

The project is carried out in close collaboration with other stakeholders such as the City of Stockholm, Nyn?shamn Municipality and Tyres? Municipality and identifies measures that take the current situation towards the desired situation and sets the framework for further work. Last Friday, SYSTRA led a workshop together with the stakeholders where the focus was on generating ideas and solutions.
