UK: A fantastic milestone has been reached for the?HS2 Curzon 2 Bridge

A fantastic milestone has been reached as Planning Permission is received for the?HS2 (High Speed Two) Ltd?Curzon 2 Bridge.

The bridge (developed by the SYSTRA?Mott MacDonald?design joint venture and architect?Weston Williamson + Partners?for?Balfour Beatty VINCI) will be one of the longest bridges of its type ever delivered in the UK!

The 150m-long bridge, designed from weathering steel to be “light but strong”, is composed of connected elements that form triangular units and will be constructed using a relatively small amount of material.

As one of the most visible parts of the HS2 Curzon Street Approach, the design references Digbeth’s important industrial heritage and will include a striking light installation. Once complete this will be Birmingham’s largest piece of public artwork!
