SystemTeknik delivered starters for modern plug-in hybrid ferries

On September 14th 2022 the battery-hybrid ferry Altera (P315) was christened. The hybrid ferry, will cover its route using only its own batteries charged directly from shore during loading and unloading, while the diesel generator sets will only serve as a backup source of power for the vessel in case of bad weather conditions on the route. Altera’s CO2 emissions decrease by more than 85 per cent compared to a similar conventional ferry operating on diesel. Altera was built for FinFerries by Polish shipyard CRIST S.A.

On October 21st 2022 another hybrid ferry (P317) was launched at CRIST S.A. shipyard.
