Systemic Constellations Coaching
Sometimes it can feel like our fate was written in the stars. Like you've got stuck in a familiar story, and it's hard to re-write it.
That's because we repeat what we do not mend.
Until we understand why it is that; we do the things we do, attract the people that we attract, respond automatically in ways that served us well in the past, we are unlikely to be able to change them.
Mapping your patterns and constellations
Imagine that you carry inside you all the people that you’ve ever met.? Friends, colleagues, club members, family members.? Each of these groups sit inside of you like a constellation of stars, some with named groups, some closer to you, some further away, some closer to others within that ‘constellation’ which takes a distinctive shape or pattern.
As you meet more people, groups and organisations in your journey through life, some constellations will start to feel more familiar than others, or you may start to notice relationship patterns that just ‘always seem to happen to you’.
You might find that in your job roles, you always find yourself playing a parental role to team members, and you repeatedly get burned out as a result of their never-ending games and conflict.
Or you may find yourself drawn into a close relationship with one person, that means someone else gets displaced and then that other person leaves dramatically, or turns against you.? And then there’s that familiar feeling ‘oh no!? It’s happened again!!? Why does this always happen to me?’
Now imagine that whatever pattern you were getting stuck in you could ‘map’ the whole thing out, understand the different parts and see where and why you keep getting stuck, rejected, vilified or burned out.
That’s what Systemic Constellations Coaching does.? It helps you to create a visual 'map' to really see these patterns, resolve the core reasons for these to keep occurring, and help you decide how to shape your relationships differently.
How does Constellations coaching help in business?
Your relationship patterns, or constellations may impact your effectiveness as a leader. You find yourself unexpectedly getting stuck when needing to come up with new ideas when you are around certain people. You may spend too much of your time and energy dealing with drama, when what your team actually needed from you is something more visionary, or or for you to just hold better boundaries

What does a session typically look like?
Group work: Some systemic constellations work can take place as part of a group of people who don't know each other, and would be typically be faciltated by a coach. For this type of work the group will act as representatives for one person, representing the people, roles or ideas within that person's 'system'. The person investigating their constellation would place the people within the group into spaces that 'feel right' according to how close they are to them and each other. They would also give each person a bit of background about themselves. Each person placed then checks into how they are feeling, and what is coming up for them and is invited to share anything that feels meaningful. The
One to One work: The process can also be facilitated between a coach and individual using counter pieces to represent the people within the person's system. The coach would then use powerful coaching questions to help to uncover the feelings or tensions within the system that may stop the person moving forward with their goals, or is keeping them stuck in familiar patterns.
Although the work can be done online, there's an additional somatic layer that is added when working in 'in-person' spaces for both types of coaching
How can I access this type of coaching?
As a Certified Integrative Therapeutic coach this is one of the types of coaching that I offer. Although it can be helpful to attempt this type of mapping alone, with a coach you are likely to be asked the questions that help you to move your awareness outside of your normal biases and examine some of your blindspots.
