Systematic Decision-Making
What does a systematic decision-making process include?
Cross-check your pending decision to your mission statement and core values.? Good decision-making requires consistency with your mission and core values.
Gather all of the available information prior to making your final decision.? However, do? ? ? ? ? ? not overload with information or you will never make a decision.
Determine who should have input and who you need to speak with prior to making the decision.? Always involve those who will be impacted by the decision.
Test your decision by asked yourself the future impacts and consequences of your decision.? Take time to anticipate what you believe will be the consequences.
Good decisions are made when you remain calm and patient throughout the process.
Over the years in my consulting practice I have interviewed many managers.? I would ask them to tell me about a time when they were able to remain calm during a storm in the company.? The reality is if you are a manager, a leader, in the marketplace, you will encounter storms.? I know.? I have weathered many storms.? Perhaps you have already been through some storms.? Maintaining your composure, staying calm, is the best way to survive the storms.? Storms always require you to make decisions.
