Peak Performers is a nonprofit recruiting firm specializing in contract roles with state of Texas government agencies. We've partnered with the Texas Department of Housing & Community Affairs (TDHCA) to recruit for a System Support Specialist (Help Desk) in Austin, TX.

Your tasks

As the System Support Specialist, you will review and prioritize incoming operational requests for technical assistance related to computers, software, and standard office equipment, identify and log the type of problems or requests and monitor the status to ensure a timely resolution.

You have 4 years of experience

  • Configure and troubleshoot personal computers, laptops, printers, and other automated hardware and software.
  • Perform backups and system cleanup and assist in handling staff equipment issue and return.
  • Install, maintain, and perform minor repairs to hardware, software, or information resources equipment.
  • Maintain records of daily system problems, remedial actions taken, and installation activities.
  • Set up computers and other office equipment for employees; install standard software; ensure proper installation of cables; and help users resolve common hardware, software, and network connectivity issues.
  • Assign logons and rights, print queues, and directory structures; reset passwords; and troubleshoot internet and phone outages.
  • Coordinate with other sections or departments concerning the implementation of new systems and scheduling of technical support activities.
  • Assist with supporting the agency’s local area network.

Project Term

Compensation: $24.00/ph (W2)

Work Location: 221 East 11th Street, Austin, TX 78701

Work Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00AM to 5:00PM

Assignment Length: Starting Asap continuing for 12 months
