IT System Administrator

On their behalf, we are currently looking for an experienced IT System Administrator?to join one of their projects.

Responsibilities:

• Install new / rebuild existing servers and configure hardware, virtual machines and, peripherals, services, settings, directories, storage, etc. in accordance to company needs;
• Develop and maintain installation and configuration procedures;
• Contribute to and maintain system standards and best practices;
• Research and recommend innovative, and where possible automate approaches for infrastructure management and administration tasks;
• Perform daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems and key processes, reviewing system and application logs, and verifying completion of scheduled jobs such as backups;
• Perform regular security monitoring to identify any possible intrusions;
• Perform daily backup operations, ensuring all required file systems and system data are successfully backed up to the appropriate media, recovery tapes or disks are created, and media is recycled and sent off site as necessary;
• Perform regular archival and purge as necessary;
• Create, change, and delete user accounts, mailboxes etc., and according internal procedures;
• Provide support per request from various internal “clients”. Investigate and troubleshoot issues;
• Repair and recover from hardware or software failures;
• Provide end-user support for day to day small cases or issues that a normal user may encounter or require assistance;
• Apply OS patches and software upgrades on a regular basis and upgrade administrative tools and utilities. Configure / add new services if necessary;
• Maintain operational, configuration, or other procedures;
• Perform periodic performance reporting and/ or on request;
• Perform ongoing performance tuning, propose hardware upgrades, and resource optimization as required.

Requirements:

• Bachelor (4-year) degree in Computer Science and technologies;
• Technical major, such as engineering, or computer science will be considered as strong advantage;
• Systems Administration certification in Microsoft technologies will be considered as a strong advantage;
• Minimum two years system administration experience.
