The escalation of violence in the Middle East is increasingly evident in Syria, with rising competition for influence among major players. Recently, Syrian state media reported that Israel targeted a military site linked to Iran. https://www.reuters.com/world/middle-east/syrian-air-defences-confront-aggression-central-region-2024-09-08/
Amid these developments and the approaching U.S. elections, local alliances are shifting rapidly. I recently read a very interesting op-ed on "How the U.S. is Losing Syria’s Tribes to Iran" by my friend @OmerOzkizilcik from the Atlantic Council Middle East Initiatives ICYMI you can find it here: https://syriadirect.org/op-ed-how-the-us-is-losing-syrias-tribes-to-iran/
