Syntax Scrutiny with T.K.E.P ????(Ep. 1)

Syntax Scrutiny with T.K.E.P ????(Ep. 1)

Welcome to your first session with your surgeon!

This article will solve a problem.

But here is what you must know before reading this.

Most times, the LinkedIn algorithm is not your problem.

Yes, that's right????

Most times, it's not the algorithm that is messing with you and your content views.

Come with me.

I'll tell you!

The problem is that your content was poorly crafted or full of grammatical errors and your audience just can't keep up.

But we can fix that here!

Because this is where your SURGEON resides!

Take your cup of coffee or water??, let's scrutinize some of the major errors made by creators in this space.

?? 1. COMPLIMENT VS. COMPLEMENT

Have you ever been confused about the use of these two words?

Here's your answer then!????

While both of these words refer to nice things, their meanings are quite different.

Most times, one is mistaken for the other because they fall under the class of words called HOMOPHONES which means words that sound alike but have different meanings and spellings, however, the rising and falling tones differentiate them.

Here are their meanings:

COMPLIMENT is something nice you tell someone while COMPLEMENT refers to things that go well together.

For example "Your tie complements your outfit so well" is a compliment, to which you can reply with a "thank you".

(please note the different spellings)

2. NIP IT WHERE?

I read a post here on Linkedin some weeks ago, where the author wrote "Nip it in the butt".??

Don't worry, it's a safe space here. I won't call names, so your syntax error is safe with me????

...lips sealed...??

But then, Nip it where????

Please note your correction in case you see this post on your timeline????

Because I'll call you out next time????

??

It is "Nip it in the bud", not "in the butt".

For those unfamiliar with this phrase, it is an idiomatic expression. Its literal meaning refers to "nipping flowers in the bud", while its connotative meaning is "to stop something immediately so that it doesn't become a worse problem".

3. “ME” SHOULD NEVER COME FIRST

Me and Her went to the market ?

She and I went to the market ?

Have you been making this error?

Don't worry. You are not the only one who makes this mistake.

Most people do!

But I'm glad you chose this newsletter.

The above sentences used as examples are major errors most creators make in their content.

It may sound right, but it is wrong.

Why?

Because if you take away “I,” the sentence would read “She went to the restaurant.“

The correct usage is;

“She and I went to the Market.”?. (Thus, if you remove "she", the other pronoun can still stand alone- "I went to the market".)

And.....

????.. We're out!!!!!??

Congratulations!!!????????
