Synhelion launches world’s first solar-powered synthetic fuel plant

According to a press release, Synhelion, a clean energy company, inaugurated the world’s first industrial-scale plant to make synthetic fuels using solar heat.??

Named DAWN and located in Jülich, Germany, this facility consists of a solar tower standing 20 meters tall alongside a mirror field. This system enables cost-efficient solar production, around the clock, the release mentions.??

The synthetic fuel plant marks the first time the company’s inventions are being integrated on such a large scale.?

The company release mentions that solar fuels have the capacity to replace fossil fuels and are entirely “compatible with the existing fuel infrastructure”.??

Solar fuels are compatible with storage, transportation, internal combustion, and aircraft engines.?
