I do things differently than most people. It’s actually something I’m quite proud of, and I love opening up the discussion on how you can do this too.
When it comes to my work and business, January 1st - March 31st, or Q1 as most people would call it, means nothing to me.
December 21st - March 20th does.
March 21st - June 20th does.
June 21st - September 22nd does.
September 23rd - December 21st does.

(Sidebar - these dates can vary slightly by year, and these are dates for the Northern Hemisphere. If you’re in the Southern Hemisphere, these will be flip-flopped for you, but the concept remains the same.)
I love looking through the lens of cyclical living whenever possible. How do we sync with the naturally occurring seasons rather than constantly going against the grain? Our bodies sync with the seasons naturally, except our humanness gets in the way which inevitably gets us out of sync. (Think overloading on technology, being awake when we should be sleeping, pushing more caffeine and sugar when what our body is really asking for is rest).
As a sidebar before I dive into this with you - consider this an overarching theme or way of being for the year. While living with the seasons is a wonderful ideal, if you are an employee, chances are you’re in minion-mode (sorry, but it’s true). Meaning you don’t have all the control over what you do and when, because you’re a cog in the machine. However… you can easily apply this to the rest of your life. While this piece is about work/business, this idea of cyclical living is applicable to your personal life as well. Or your side hustle. Or just understanding the greater workings in the world and how they affect those of us that live on this planet.
I have a whole piece dedicated to this very topic ready for you on my Substack. It's available for free, and there's also an option without obligation to make a "love donation" to support my work in sharing wisdom as I learn/receive it.
