Symposium fosters understanding

Symposium fosters understanding

The ECA Reconciliation Symposium brings the matter of reconciliation in early childhood into the spotlight and works towards a better future for all Australians. Attendees will learn about a culture dating back more than 40 000 years, and facilitated table discussions will lead to an atmosphere of dialogue, understanding and engagement between Indigenous and non-Indigenous participants.

Topics will include:

  • Becoming culturally competent and taking a leadership role
  • engaging with Aboriginal communities and mentor
  • developing a Reconciliation Action Plan
  • panel: practical examples of reconciliation in practice

Keynote speakers will include Karen Mundine (CEO, Reconciliation Australia), Professor Cheryl Kickett-Tucker (Curtin University) and Kerryn Jones (SA Teaching Award winner). There will also be panels and presentations from the Narragunnawali team, services and schools that have successful implemented Reconciliation Action Plans. Facilitated by Catherine Hydon and Jo Goodwin.

Visit the speakers page for more information.
