The streets are lit and decorations are in full-swing everywhere. Oh yes! It’s the Holiday Season! With so many hardships throughout the year because of the global pandemic COVID19, we have entered the most beautiful time of the year. Holidays are a perfect time to celebrate with your loved ones and managing work in these times might be a big hassle. Wondering, what to do? Well, leaving your work behind is not an option, you obviously need to balance your work and holidays.

In this article, I have compiled a list of a few things that can help you manage your work during the holiday season. Let’s get started!

To-Do List Is A MUST!!!

As the holiday season arrives, there are a number of things that we plan on doing. Some have some personal chores while others have work errands to cater to. Instead of getting stressed and making chaos while managing work, it’s best to make a to-do list. Make the points of things you need to cover and then act accordingly. Doing this will help you manage work and finish everything on time, thereby making a perfect balance. Not just that, having a proper plan will further strengthen your productivity while minimizing your stress.

The fact is a fact - You cannot do everything! No matter how much you crave to do everything in life, you will certainly leave a few. However, there is no harm in trying! So, when making your to-do list, make sure you arrange them in the priority order. By doing this, you will focus on more important things first and the rest will follow. Also, make sure you set a time-frame to complete the task as it will further help you do the urgent tasks first and others will line up afterward.

Never mess with the time! No matter how much occupied you tend to be during the holiday season, make sure you schedule and organize your tasks. Just like you have a duty towards your family, you owe one towards your organization (after all, it’s paying you). So, schedule things like - meetings, appointments, tasks, and other things in a way that does not conflict with your holiday fun. You can schedule things handy on apps like - Google Calendar and marks your tasks date and time-wise. It will surely help!

Who will handle your client when you won’t be available? Who will dig into the project details? Well, before you leave your work desk, make sure you assign the responsibilities to the right person. There are many things you need to take care of when working in an organization. So, you need to substitute your roles to the right fit employee whom you can trust completely.

I know making space in an organization is challenging, but there might be some who are still struggling to earn that place. Always remember, "Part of being a human is about helping others." So, while you are enjoying your holidays with your friends and family back home, give your employees a chance to showcase their talents. Assign the job roles to them and see how they perform.
