Symba's 2??0??2??4?? Unwrapped

Reflecting on a Year of Growth, Community, and Bold Transformation

It’s mind-blowing to think how much can happen in a single year at a startup. At Symba, 2024 felt like a whirlwind of innovation, collaboration, and big moments that tested our resilience and creativity. From celebrating massive wins with our team to navigating new changes in HR and technology, we learned a lot—fast.

Here are five key areas that defined Symba’s journey this year, along with reflection prompts to spark your own thinking:

1. Scaling Impact to 20,000+ Users?

“I couldn’t imagine what I would’ve done without Symba.” — A Symba Customer

This year, we passed 20,000 users, which is huge. But that number truly matters because it represents real people—students, new hires, and managers—whose journeys we’re empowering. Hearing direct testimonials from customers reaffirms that our vision of closing the gap in onboarding and new-hire engagement is making a difference.

Ask Yourself:

  • How do you measure impact? Numbers, feedback, or both?
  • When was the last time you paused to celebrate the milestones you’ve hit?

2. Expanded our product to all new hires and into new industries like construction

Layoffs across tech and HR impacted our community and customers. We had to reimagine our approach in real time, zeroing in on industries like healthcare, biotech, and retail that urgently needed our help. It wasn’t a smooth ride—lots of steep learning curves and forging fresh partnerships—but this detour opened our eyes to even bigger horizons for Symba.

Ask Yourself:

  • When sudden changes hit, how quickly can you pivot?
  • Which new industries or opportunities are calling your name?

3. Spotlights and Community Wins

The Highlights:

  • Inc’s Female Founders 250: We’re thankful for every cheerleader who believed in our mission.

  • Our CTO Goes Big in NYC: Seeing our brilliant co-founder Nikita Gupta on billboards during Tech Week was both surreal and incredibly motivating.

  • Conferences & Live Events: We reconnected in person with customers and partners at Transform, URx, HR Tech Week, and more. These face-to-face moments weren’t just networking; they were a reminder of why our work matters. Here are some recaps below:

Ask Yourself:

  • Are you actively building a community or network that challenges and inspires you?
  • What are you doing to nurture those relationships?

4. We embraced the AI craze and launched a revolutionary new concept?

I gotta say… it feels so good to hear people say “WOW” when you demo Symba. I won’t? spill the beans so if you want to see the product live sign up for a demo here: https://symba.io/schedule-a-demo/

Ask Yourself:

  1. Are you keeping up with the latest technology to continuously improve your product??
  2. How can AI be leveraged to solve a specific problem for the customers rather than adopting it just to hop on a trend??

5. Award-Winning Podcast and the Future of Work

We took our podcast to new heights this year—literally—hosting our first live session at JFF’s Horizons in Washington, DC with Nikita R. Steals .?

From thought leaders like Jeffrey Gallimore to upcoming guests, these conversations keep us plugged into the evolving landscape of HR tech and workforce development. It also landed us an award and recognition as a top podcast (pinch me, please!)

Ask Yourself:

  • What platforms are you using to share your vision?
  • How are you encouraging open dialogue about the future of work?

Looking Ahead ??

With fewer than 14% of startups led by women and under 2% of venture capital flowing to women-led ventures, the road ahead can look daunting—but it’s also full of possibility. Every day, I’m reminded that our impact isn’t just in the technology we build or the partnerships we form; it’s in the hope we bring to the next generation of professionals stepping into the workforce.

We’re barreling toward an exciting future—one that demands adaptability, fresh thinking, and a collective commitment to empowering talent before Day 1 on the job. On behalf of everyone at Symba, thank you for being part of our community and sharing in our mission to reshape onboarding, elevate early careers, and, yes, open up the workforce to all.

Cheers to another year of discovery and transformation. I can’t wait to see where we go from here!
