Sylvester Stallone & You: The Villains in the Next Star Wars Movie?

Sylvester Stallone & You: The Villains in the Next Star Wars Movie?

Growing up during the era of Bruce Lee and Sylvester Stallone, and witnessing the early days of Star Wars, I never paid much attention to the Oscars Academy Awards. However, my perspective shifted this year when OpenAI's Co-founder & CEO, Sam Altman, graced the event as a guest. His presence brought attention to OpenAI's latest content-generator model, "Sora". While some see it has the potential to revolutionize the film industry, other consider it the most threatening villain attacking their industry replacing writers, actors, and effects artists … in both cases this technology is disrupting the traditional Hollywood ecosystem!

But how will AI truly impact the movie industry? While some may face job displacement, there lies a tremendous opportunity for the democratization of filmmaking. Affordable Hollywood-like movies could become accessible to almost everyone, allowing individuals to unleash their creativity and produce high-quality films in a fraction of the time and cost. Moreover, AI technology enables the customization of movies for diverse audiences, presenting the same movie with different version replacing the heroes, villains, seen, and language based on the targeted audience.

However, these advancements also present new challenges. How will Hollywood stars be utilized in AI-generated content? Will it be a matter of licensing? If so, will it follow an open license model? What restrictions will be in place regarding the portrayal of characters from political, ethical, religious, and economic perspectives? Moreover, what about deceased actors? Who will hold the licensing rights, and will they be accessible to all? On the flip side, while this technology facilitates the dissemination of ideas and ideologies through well-known actors, questions arise about the ethical implications. Are all actors comfortable with being associated with any idea or ideology? Should there be a clear indication or disclaimer that a movie or material is AI-generated? Even if regulations are established, how can compliance be enforced and ensured? These are critical considerations that warrant careful examination and regulation.

Despite these complexities, the potential applications of AI extend beyond entertainment. Imagine educational courses taught by "the Avengers," financial advice from the "Wolf of Wall Street," or astronomy lectures by "Darth Vader." The possibilities are endless and transformative, promising a future where knowledge and entertainment converge seamlessly.

As we navigate this evolving landscape, prepare your scripts, rehearse your scenes… & wish you all the best in the future Oscars Academy AI-Generated Films Awards!
