Sydney Startup March Madness Event - Building in Public

Building in public is very much on trend in the startup world but not something I see as often in the VC or Startup Ecosystem World, but I thought I'd give it a go on something I'm working on so I can attract more resources and partners.

If you know me on LinkedIn, it's no secret that I'm doing a lot of startup basketball events in 2023 and 2024. It has been a great way to network with founders, investors, and other startup supporters in Sydney, Melbourne, and Brisbane.

I'm now looking to do a full day of basketball/sports related startup events on Friday, March 22nd in Sydney and am looking for more partners to help.

Here's the proposed day's agenda and where I'm looking for support...like anything in my life, it's pliable and a work in progress so open to better ideas.

Friday, March 22nd in Sydney:

• 8am to 11am - 3 vs. 3 half court basketball tournament.
• 11:30 to 1pm - March Madness viewing party (NCAA College Basketball Tourney)
• 1pm to 3pm - Startup & Investor pitch event, meetings, or mixer. Can be sports related startups and athlete investors or open.

I’m looking to recruit partners to help with:

1. Running the logistics of the 3v3 tourney
2. Hosting the tourney games – need venue with 2-3 indoor courts ideally.
3. Host the NCAA broadcast viewing for 80ish people
4. Run a founder and athlete investor pitch/mixer/matchmaking event of some sort and host venue.
5. Ideally we have one venue for the entire day if it can host bball games, viewing party, and meetings/mixer.?
