FRIDAY, MARCH 11TH
Mar 11, 2022
11:30am – 12:30pm
Over the past decade, the commercialization of the Internet has evolved into the business of data ownership. Successful businesses benefited from aggregating and owning large amounts of data. They did this by providing free products to the consumers in exchange for their data, often leading to exploiting the engagement behaviors of consumers. This and the bias in data are the limitations of centralized AI models — AI models created on the aggregated data of many individuals. The economy around AI has thus been revolving around corporations. In this program, we will discuss how the macro trends of Web 3.0 and the decentralization of data ownership is changing the dynamics of the AI services and the shift in economical benefits from businesses to that of individuals in the context of NFTs.
? SATURDAY, MARCH 12TH?
Mar 12, 2022
2:30pm – 3:30pm
We all know stereotypes exist around attributes like skin color, gender, and sexuality. Less commonly addressed is the issue of language bias — there is innate bias in language, in the words we use, and how we use them. While language can be the strongest initial connector and between people, it can also be the biggest divider, so how can we work to break down stereotypes and fix the biases within it? By combining emerging technology and artificial intelligence with real humans and authenticity. Panelists from Unbabel, skritswap, Rosetta Stone, and Grammarly will discuss the ways in which they are each tackling the language barrier problem, and what this means for the way global companies and communities work in the future.

11:30am – 12:30pm
The burden of the pandemic has forced seismic changes in human behavior, causing a major transformation in two specific machine learning models. The first is canonical machine learning (CML), representing traditional approaches in pattern recognition, derived from highly structured and labeled data through computational statistics. The second is reinforcement machine learning (RML), which deploys a fundamentally different modeling paradigm as it self-adjusts individual actions to optimize a collective outcome, and operates much more autonomously than CML. We’ll discuss the evolution of both CML and RML in three critical time periods: 1) the time before the pandemic (BP), 2) the time during the pandemic (DP) and 3) the time after the pandemic (AP).

10:00am – 11:00am
What if you could see bad things coming? This requires specific focus at key points in our daily lives — imagining the impossible. Unfortunately, most people are unaware and never think things could happen to them. The pandemic, January 6 Capitol riot, and hundreds of mass shootings across our country are recent examples of the unimaginable becoming reality. Former special agent and counterterrorism expert, Fred Burton will explore how these events can be detected and stopped through data and technology, rising and expanding physical threats, and why business leaders need to always be imagining the impossible. He will discuss the real threats of today and the mindset needed to ultimately keep people and businesses safe.

We are now living in a digital age that we take for granted. In the near future, we will again be faced with a new paradigm shift. It will be brought about by quantum technology, especially quantum computers. Think back to 20 to 30 years ago. No one could have imagined the lifestyle we lead today with the Internet, smart phones, social networking, e-commerce, etc. In the same way, there will be a game changer called QX in the future.?For example, quantum computers will turn the sky into a daily commute space with numerous air mobilities. It can also create a clean and sustainable energy society with high-speed virtual power plants.?Quantum computers will optimize our entire society and build a lean and sustainable society. Let's change our society with quantum computers.

AI will only get you so far. You also need to trigger people’s deep-rooted, instinctive responses: their Innate Intelligence. Cognitive research shows most decisions are made reflexively — based on automatic patterns ingrained in the brain to help early humans survive. Today those same patterns impact purchasing decisions. They compel attraction or avoidance. So AI revealing what to say, at what point, to whom isn’t enough. How you say it is what can automatically command attention and prompt a hardwired response. Discover the Endowment Effect, Rhyme as Reason Bias, and other heuristics and cognitive biases that trigger instinctive, innate behaviors. See why Innate Intelligence is the powerful complement to AI — and why not using it actually hobbles AI’s effectiveness.

4:00pm – 5:00pm
While artificial intelligence has become an integral part of today’s business landscape, many are taking one of two approaches to integration: using AI to replace humans or not using it at all. This panel will highlight why human and artificial intelligence, together, is the winning combination. AI can help streamline business operations and stimulate growth — but when combined with the emotional intelligence of humans, AI can also enhance the customer experience by offering insight into unmet and unarticulated customer needs. Bringing together leaders from the financial services, fashion and manufacturing industries, the panelists will discuss how AI has become an integral part of today’s business landscape and how it has helped them develop richer relationships with their customers.

Organizations pour money and time into technical and automated solutions to enhance their cybersecurity, yet those efforts often fail because those solutions fail to address the human factors that make cybercrime so successful. It is time to take this personally as cybercriminals are not attacking systems, email, or computers. Cybercriminals attack people. Traditional training and best practices can only go so far and don’t mentally prepare your team for the "in the moment” actions and decisions that protect your data. Understanding the social engineering behind phishing and adopting mindfulness practices that change behavior can drastically reduce the susceptibility of your team to cybercrime.

Over the past year, the way we work has changed, and this transformation isn't slowing down. Across all industries, we see people embracing new ways of work — from working remotely, to starting new businesses.
Despite this, studies show Americans are working more hours. In fact, on average Americans are working on average two and a half hours more per day — turning the 8-hour workday into a 10 or 14-hour workday. It’s these long hours that employees are experiencing a higher rate of burnout, great job resignation, and deterioration of mental health. Along with helping employees have a better work-life balance, Wade also believes that automation will enable people to start their own businesses, create jobs, and empower small companies to compete with large enterprises.

Internet freedom around the world is dramatically declining, as authoritarian governments crack down on online access. They’re blocking social media platforms and, in some cases, shutting down internet service completely. These shutdowns are happening in the days surrounding an election, stifling voters’ ability to connect and access information. States are punishing social media platforms for moderating politically-driven misinformation — and the COVID-19 pandemic is giving them more opportunities to censor critical speech.
How should the global community respond to these threats to online freedom of expression? And as policymakers in democratic nations grapple with their own questions of regulating big tech, how can they advance a vision grounded in democracy and human rights?

Ransomware was thought to have peaked over 5 years ago, but not so. We continue to see headlines screaming reports of ransomware impacting public and private companies, government agencies and critical infrastructure alike.
Cybercriminals constantly hone their techniques to improve an already successful extortion formula that is no longer a secret, enabling new perpetrators to proliferate. This session, led by a globally renowned cybercrime expert, will illustrate through real world examples what the recent changes are that have caused ransomware attacks to explode in number. He’ll show how understanding these changes provides the first step to develop a solid pro-active counter strategy to ransomware no matter how bad actors continue to improve and evolve their formula.

The future of humanity lies in the hands of conscious creators who connect with life. Tech gurus predict A.I. will soon become conscious, but perhaps we should ask ourselves: “Is humanity conscious enough to be trusted with A.I.?”??
A.I. helps us make more money, optimize supply chains, surveil populations, catch the consumer in vulnerable moments to sell a product, and find faster routes. Artist Pinar Demirdag shows how she uses A.I. as a tool, like a brush, wrench or TV. An amazing tool, not to be confused with the program it shows.?What makes us human is the capacity to dream, create and manifest. Humanity’s power lies in its collective consciousness. Unless we reinvest in next level human values, we will continue using A.I. to manipulate, divide and destabilize the collective.

Hacks. Ransomware. Threats. The many words that come to mind when you think of cybersecurity. For an industry that prides itself on protection, safety, and peace of mind, it actually does quite the opposite. The cybersecurity industry is broken — profiting off of customer failure, fear-mongering marketing tactics, and mystified claims to cyber prevention when in reality vendors use a “detect and respond” strategy instead of “prevent and resolve.” Hacks and breaches continue to happen. Customers are failing. It’s time for a cybersecurity revolution — founded on customer-centric strategies that lead with love and care instead of fear and exploitation. Join us as we explore The Future of Cybersecurity.

Synthetic media (also known as “deepfakes”) are often considered dangerous. Manipulated videos of celebrities or politicians making egregious statements has shown us just how powerful their virility can be, and the impact it can have on society when it pits truth against fiction. But context matters and whether such content is deemed “good” or “bad” ultimately depends on why it was made. Creative uses such as hyper-realistic AI-produced videos, and even visual effects in films, will be increasingly ubiquitous. Adobe’s Director of Content Authenticity, Andy Parsons, and Henry Ajder, Head of Policy & Partnerships at Metaphysic and lead at Synthetic Futures, a community shaping a positive future for synthetic media, will discuss how synthetic media can be simple and ethical for creators.

Two new strange apps are bending our understanding of reality and our capacity to influence it. Randonautica, the world’s first quantum random adventure game, invites users to set an intention and generates a random point. 18 million people downloaded Randonautica which resulted in over one billion views of videos with bizarre “coincidences.” In Time Machine, users communicate from their past and future selves, benefiting from “time travel therapy.” This user co-designed app shifts wellbeing, as shown in a peer-reviewed paper. The future of apps and games are created to expand human consciousness of the cosmos, increase self-love, and promote healing. The creators of the two apps took very different approaches to the notion of "experiment," but started with similar intentions.

As we learn more about quantum physics, we appreciate that time is non-linear and that we in the present can connect to the past and the future. Anticipating the future is a priority for the Intelligence Community. Can precognition rooted in the principles of quantum physics offer a new opportunity? Over the last 45 years, scientists have conducted controlled experiments that show precognition of otherwise unpredictable events is possible, and we've learned more about the circumstances and practices that support successful precognition. But incorporating this capability into national security practices is fraught with difficulties, including the vagaries of past intelligence applications, understandable skepticism, ethical issues, and a concern that predicting the future might change it.
