Switching your business over to the digital network

Switching your business over to the digital network

By 2025, everyone will have moved to the?UK’s digital phone network. Find out how BT can support you every step of the way.?

The traditional, copper-based public switched telephone network (PSTN) will soon be a thing of the past.?

With greater reliability, improved audio quality, and streamlined connectivity,?the digital phone network will transform the way you communicate as a business. On top of this, a variety of linked apps mean you will be able to easily connect with customers and clients via voice calls, video calls, or chats – all from one business number.

Making the switch is as simple as 1,2,3, and we’ll support you every step of the way.

Step one: Reviewing your current set-up

First,?our Professional Services team will review your current set-up via a remote survey. This includes gathering all relevant information about site locations, fault data, circuit types, fibre availability, associated phone numbers, and more.?

We’ll also need to know what you’re currently using your network for. You may depend on your landlines to connect with your customers, or perhaps rely on alarm systems and CCTV to keep your premises safe. To get a full understanding of your needs, we’ll carry out physical surveys on two or three of your sites.

Step two: Moving you to a digital phone line

If needed, our engineers will install routers on your business premises. We can also provide analogue telephone adaptors (ATAs) to make sure your desk phones, alarms, and CCTV are compatible with the digital network. Then, you’ll be connected and ready to go.

Step three: Beyond set-up

Once you’re up and running, our?Managed Services team?can monitor the day-to-day performance of your IT infrastructure. Our world-class cybersecurity and IT experts can reduce your cybersecurity risk, recommend technology that will help your business thrive, and take the pressure off your overstretched IT department.?
