Website security has become a major and the most prior concern to get rid of. Most of the webmasters afraid of losing their data due to any risk or security crisis. I am also a business entrepreneur and worried about sustaining security of the website. I have heard many threatening cases that are really heartbroken for a business owner. It’s not that they don’t maintain their website’s security, but sometimes there is lack of methodologies and advanced tricks that generate this type of situation.
To correct data breaches and website hacks, many websites are wrestling in the battleground to overcome the big issue of security. We are on that path where each business owner must look for the proven approaches to improve their website security. Undoubtedly, there are many ways to prevent a website from getting harm. But, the best way which I liked the most is to switch your website from HTTP to HTTPS.
Today, I have come up with an interesting concept of “HTTPS” for making the websites not only secure but also strong in all manners.
A brief introduction:
HTTP stands for Hyper Text Transfer Protocol which was created to share information between servers and computers through the internet. And;
HTTPS is referred to Hyper Text Transfer Protocol Secure which is an advanced version to display website URL.
Here, we will move towards the advantages provided by HTTPS to the websites:
? Data advantages
Being a website owner, you must have an idea that how we analyze data and traffic sources through Google Analytics. One of the best services the tool provides is to let us know that from where the traffic is coming from. Or the traffic is coming from a secure to a non-secure website. The tool listed it as the direct traffic. For instance, if something is coming from an HTTPS to HTTP source, the browser doesn’t report the location. This directly affects website’s organic results.
This discrepancy keeps on running in webmasters mind till they find out a proper solution. But, moving to HTTPS helps owners by preserving the referral information to make marketers understand the clear picture of traffic.
? Security protections
HTTP connections or websites track the user behavior and sometimes reveal the confidential information like name and identities. This is risky for a website owner. Fortunately, people are moving to HTTPS as here user activities are handled in better ways and far protected from non-professional sources. Primarily meant for privacy, HTTPS helps prevent forceful intrusions of viruses and malware.
You might have seen that there are undesirable transfer protocols available on the website. These are in terms of promotional ads. This is because of the non-encrypted information methodology. Using encrypted techniques of HTTPS don’t entertain these types of activities and protect data by authenticating user’s identity. If the user gives relevant information then only he will be allowed to proceed further.

? SEO Advantages
Now, let’s dive deep into the main reason behind moving from HTTP to HTTPS. Actually, it was all because of the latest Google announcement which stated that all the websites using HTTPS will be treated first on Google results. It also provides a great ranking boost. After this announcement, most of the industries have taken SSL certification for moving their website from HTTP to HTTPS. In recent days, it has become a trend among website owners to take ultimate advantages of HTTPS.
Recently SEMRush study elaborated that 65% of website domains that are highly-ranked for their top keywords are based on HTTPS. I am not saying that it is the only factor which influences a website’s ranking. Besides, there are many other factors that lead business keywords to the top. But, I can definitely say that HTTPS establishes a correlation between a site’s organic search results and a secure information transfer protocol.
Process to switch from HTTP to HTTPS is not that difficult. It only requires a deep detail and an eye on each consideration like CSS elements and speed optimization components. In short, this is a powerful mantra to bring huge organic traffic to your website.
Final Thoughts:
Most of the business owners feel like website security is the matter to be handled by the website developers. But, they don’t know that if a website fails to secure the data, then it may affect the entire organization from top to grounded level. As a business owner, I personally suggest you switch your website domain from HTTP to HTTPS. If you have already done it, it’s quite good. And, if you’re still thinking about it, do it fast to get a winning position over the web.
